As someone who bought WOM expecting it to be in working order, and after having waited 3 months for you to make good on the promises you made back in January to make WOM worth playing, I can say that I have no intention of "moving to FE" unless you're going to offer it for free to anyone who bought WOM.
That's already been done for everybody who bought in 2010. If you bought in 2011... realistically I'm not
An opinion I'm sure is shared by others. This doesn't explain your HOPING that Stardock halt all support on War of Magic.
Splitting limited resources two ways instead of focusing on one thing (FE) doesn't strike me as the best of plans either. The people working on WoM could instead be working on something like making MP in FE not-terrible (something which will likely never happen in WoM).

If you can't really afford it, then don't. You need to take care of your finances first. The expansion (Fallen Enchantress) is going to be the version to get anyway, and it'll be standalone when it comes out. So if your finances are better when that comes out, you should go for it then. :)

Maybe because the Impulse forums are going over to Gamestop, and these forums are shared across other Stardock sites. It's still there from the Elemental forums. :)

The technology difference between Impulse and Steam is such that any objective developer who looked at the two would overwhelmingly...let's just say the gulf is signif

No. Odds are that will never happen in WoM. Possibly in the expansion because the MP details aren't out yet, but I wouldn't get your hopes up because the statements have looked like they're married to this "MP has to be a different game" mistake. TBH Stardock doesn't seem to "get" MP.

Gun ownership laws simply should not exist in my opinion, because criminals dont give a damn about the law, and will find ways around it. It is tragic when one man with an ak47 goes on a killing rampage and causes alot of shit for families and stuff, but you dont need to make it worse for innocent people who simply want to protect themselves. In the same sense, pirates will f

There was a big thread about this not too long ago, but the only answer seems to be that nobody knows. If they have plans to improve MP, they aren't telling.

The sales also mean people might buy games they wouldn't normally be willing to try, due to the lower barrier to entry. As for the question, Shogun 2. In large part because I don't have time to play it right now anyway. :)
Derek Paxton is well known from the Civ IV modding community. At first it was thought that his role at SD would be as project manager, but as it turns out he is creating his own little game with the Elemental engine. From what we've heard apparently the developers are having a lot of fun using the new features of the system, at the consumer's expense. And the release time-frame of this 'game' (ie expansion) has been continually pu
What if they'd sold it to Microsoft to merge into GFWL? Or Valve, to poach the users for Steam? It can always be worse. Both of those would be preferrable to me over GS, even though Valve isn't a realistic scenario. MS is much more realistic. There is nothing inherently bad about GFWL. It started as terrible as Steam, but it improved considerably. In DoW2 it still was iffy and ultimately Steamworks proved better - but at

Stardock was perceived by some as a trustworthy company. So Impulse provided us a way into the ESD market. The digital game market is growing but slowly. If more people had trust in it, developers might more quickly reap the rewards of gamers gone digital. Now that Impulse is

After trying to play Arkham Asylum yesterday and being delayed for 15 minutes by GFWL going through multiple "oh I forgot who you are, login again, oh patch!" cycles... yeah. Like my friend at Bethesda told me: "There's a reason we quit using it after only one game."

Impulse seems much better!
That's correct. Steam will always load when playing a Steam game. The game should work in offline mode though. Most people just leave Steam running in the tray and thus it's not noticable, which also lets the community features and the game auto-patching work. The Impulse tray
