No, I think only OP is forgeting that. :) If you look at the list of stuff that was mentioned for backporting, it was "I'm not saying ALL of it, just the things like UI, champions, world variety, etc" Of course if you take those things, you need to also take the engine improvements that were made to support them. You're probably bringing Shader Model 3 as part of that because "world variety" now has shinier SM 3 art that you need to include. All the art has to get backported.<

Traits are a great idea: there is a reason i think why almost every RPG system ends up having a feats, perks or traits system (or something similar). I also love the new interface and all the art that is coming into the game generally. I am however, more used to trait type features for characters rather than units. It’s important that they are exceptions to the rules, rather than the basis for the game. I’d hate th

I'm not saying ALL of it, just the things like UI, champions, world variety, etc. That shouldn't be THAT hard to do and I wouldn't see it do anything but make the game BETTER. [/quote] Why? The whole point of making FE is that they can work on all this stuff

I fear this is going to be the major epic fail in FE. If we just end up with the same factions who SD think are unique because they get a different starting tech, then the critics and this forum are going to

If you have a "stay at home" Sovereign or Champion that sits in a city and gives it bonuses, do they gain experience from doing that? Or do they share XP when your others do stuff? Looking good otherwise. :)

I stopped playing WoM a while ago, and boring combat is the main reason why. I can live with a lot of other stuff, but with so few units having skills, no traits, very easy to beat AI, and no terrain modifiers/obstacles , tactical combat is pretty much exactly the same every fight. City sieges in AoW 2 were the highlight of the entire game, and without walls, trees, bulidings, and other obstacles there's just no way

It has no technology research (spell research doesn't really count), city founding and development are very minimal, little diplomacy, and so on. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the game for the tactical combat, which is quite good; when it comes to redesigning tactical combat for FE, the more ideas they inherit from AOW:SM the better in my opinion. I just object to

Apparently they don't want to force people to buy expensive tablet-like things (which is actually a pretty good thing if you ask me. Technically sound (ie: stable, no memory issues), wish list "more of everything" implemented, and available within the next 4 years. Pick two. ;) Unfortunately when building anything on a limited budget, you need to focus on what you can actually do with the resources at hand. That's one of the reasons behind FE cutting a lot of stuff, the aim is to do fewer things but do those things better.

I'm not sure it's going to matter a lot either way for Elemental, but if your intent is to play games on the laptop you're going to want the stronger GPU. Anything that uses shaders and such (and Elemental does) will benefit from that tremendously.
