Name one game that had a plethora of customization options that is balanced and cannot be min maxed in some way?
The fact that a goal is not ultimately attainable does not mean that we should act as though the entire concept is an impossibility. Consider, if you will, the latest two iterations of D&D. Both can do just about all of the same things (although 3.5 is bad for more than a few ty
Balance is thrown out the door when you include customization. ... You can NEVER provide a large amount of customization options while maintaining balance.
This is false for all practical purposes. The fact that it is difficult does not mean it is impossible. Furthermore, even if you consider it to be ultimately impossible, striving for an unattainable perfection nonetheless can make the game better, so complaining about this is unfounded.</

There ought to be more stuff done here, I think. I don't know about right now, though. In Fallen Enchantress, it is implied champions will get equipment from quests and dungeons much more frequently. Then it will be appropriate to change this. I feel that gold should remain the primary currency for actual purchasing, but the most powerful manufacturable items still should have some other sort of limiter.

I like these images and would probably use that wyrm image as my logon, except... the huge Elemental logo ruins it for me. If it was reduced to a little runner on the bottom, I'd go for it, but it seems horribly tasteless and low-class to have a big old advertisement on my computer like that. Even though I recommend Elemental to people all the time, so I suppose I get into the spirit of the thing anyway.

For people sad about Dynasty: this expansion is about things outside your kingdom. I very much suspect that the next one will be about things inside your kingdom, making city design more compelling (hopefully making it matter where you put buildings relative to each other) making the dynasty system matter, and making champions more unique, with personalities and dialogue. As well as something else big and fancy that we wouldn't think about from our current perspective. That's what I'm

INT is basically useless. CHA is good for a champion that'll be sitting in a city all the time, but if you want your sovereign to move about, its value drops. And you can drop it all the way down to 5 for no penalty; just a forfeiture of gain. That stuff can go into combat stats and useful traits. Also spell books. Personally, I find the Combat book to be pointless, and Enchantment to be pointless once you get a decent cashflow going (thus making Alchemy superfluous). Terraforming is not nece
