I'll do a bit. I'm thinking some techs to improve cavalry are rather necessary, if they don't get implemented by Stardock right away, and I'd like to adapt some settings into this, though that might exceed my focus.
like Brad said as an indie they have less clout in these matters.. the big boys can levy larger penalties from not allowing pre orders on their next big thing to fines....
That doesn't mean they're powerless.
Here's something I'd like an answer on: Two sovereigns have one child each. These kids are married, and have one child. Then they die in battle. The baby is raised up to adulthood, but then his grandparents on either side perish, and he inherits two kingdoms. What happens there?

They can both be good without either being better, and they're not really comparable except in things unrelated to either's core goals. Interesting, what do you view the goals of the first AoW as being? I've always viewed it as just being an incomplete version of the
No, I understand about the style, and I like it. It's more the ground and scenery, like the trees. It seems very bland, like just one flat shade of green to represent a grassy tile. And the same couple of tree models repeated over and over. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Stardock and their games, I have faith that Elemental will be incredible. And I know that a game can be great withou
Yeah, suing wouldn't be worthwhile for something like this. However, calling up the relevant people and making a stink about it could be beneficial.

Here's a related question. How hard would it be to make it possible that the death of your sovereign instead lets you play as your heir? I'd imagine it would take a lot of hackish stuff if done from a modding end, at the very least. At worst I could see having to kill everyone related to the sovereign and put new characters into those relationships with identical characteristics. I like the Crusader Kings dynastic emphasis, and it would be interesting to play with.
Quoting delijoe79, reply 9This is one of the things I'd like to see modded in... and it'll probably be fairly easy to mod in "wizard" units with abilities that mimic spells your sovereigns/heroes can cast. What I'd like to see trainable wizards that you would have access to with the control of a shard and also a required tech and buildings (like a mage tower) or even fire archers and other variants on magic ranged units..
I think this was answered in a different thread, but basically, if your Sovereign dies, as in dies permanently, it's game over, period. Just can't recall where I saw this answered, sorry. I might of course be wrong.
We aren't talking about your sovereign, we're talking about the sovereigns of NPC factions. It's sort of important that the infrastructure be there, because presumably, killing an enemy sovereign is kind of important.
As far as complaints of an unsatisfactory AI go... I've only noticed such complaints from the guy who makes the AI. Considering how other AI by the same dude turned out (especially GalCivII), I think it's safe to say that what he isn't satisfied with will nonetheless be good enough for the average gamer, at least until you get sufficiently skilled in the game that the AI no longer provides sufficient challenge, at which point a patch will likely have improved the AI even further.

Don't you people want to take a week or two to just play the game and get a feel for it before you start changing everything? heh
To be fair, there's a lot of delicious potential for people to build there own settings here. It's a strong and versatile engine, built with modding in mind. It makes sense that people would be interested in playing with that.
