This is why we should have different options at the game setup screen. Would you like to play on after the Sovereign dies? Appoint one of his childs as his successor? Why not? It sounds pretty good imo. Would you prefer Stardock's Sovereign dies = Game over method? Why not...that should be an option also.
I like Stardock's idea of "SD=GO" but that doesn't mean I don't like the other ideas (like dinasty lineages). And I thi
Wintersong
I'd take down any non pure Elemental from the main post to reduce the noise. (yea, mainly my fault, sorry) To make up for it and to celebrate that I didn't lose everything in the last cycle of my computer: <img src="http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/Utaku_Areka/Elemental/ele_cit01.png" alt
I personally prefer the Shhh video. :P Also: Beam me up, Scotty!
Any solution that approached the "Contingency Plan" model sounds good to me. It doesn't change the basic idea of "SD=GO", and adds more options (which can mean more fun). -Relics: be it a la Lich or a la Sauron, Relics are a nice solution. Should be of different levels of power. So you could have low level Relics that will save your life once (and you can only have a relic at a time so still killable if not given time to create another) and high level ones that could save it unli
Well I never heard these informations. If the devs decided it already that ... 1. Sovereign dies = Game ends 2. Sovereign is unable to pass their abilities to children => Dynasty/Heir idea is out of question = It's pointless to make suggestions. Like it, or not..it will work like this. [The Evade skill is just a cosmetic feature, it won't make those people happy who want an option to play with different rule
This makes no sense at all. What is so special about the Sovereign? How come that none of his own childs will have the power to become the next Sovereign...somehow I fail to understand this.
You should ask Frogboy about it. But you won't find anywhere he mentioning that the Soeverign can spwn new Sovereigns (which means more essence than essence imbued heroes, that can create cities, cast the same magic spells i
Lol... I'm pretty sure thats a bug resulting from combat not really being in yet.
I tought that was intended? My memory seems to remember that sometime somewhere Frogboy (or BoogieBac?) said it was like that. (which would support Sovereigns that don't want to leave their city and still be able to level up and get more powerfull). About "Only a Sovereign can kill a Sovereign", I'd prefer "Only a Channeler can
For the record, whenever I talk about the "Sovereign death = game over" I do it inreference to sandbox, where the non canon games can happen. But Landi is right in my point of view. I'd put the Sovereign death thing at the same level of Dragons for Frogboy in this game.
If the sovereign dies an heir successor takes over. This heir is like the sovereign at the beginning of the game. Weak. Brand new. You have to start all over building this character up all over again while your opponents still have very powerful and very experienced older sovereigns running around. Here would be the risk and challenge in losing your sovereign. This would be such a cool balancing feature! But please NO GAME OVER [e digicons]8(|[/e]
Too funny. Better be careful with those notes, Brad, you never know who's gonna be lurking around, take it completely out of context, blow it out of proportion, and post it all over the interwebs That would only happen if I posted it on my Facebook account.
I'm not sure I'd want my game to continue or end depending on a dice roll though...
It's a skill you can decide to purchase or not. If you don't, he doesn't scape, he dies, game over. If you buy it, there are certains conditions that will allow him to survive instead of insta game over. Seems extra option to survive and avoid losing the game, not an extra option to lose the game. If you want that extra chance to survive, then b
You are playing as the sovereign. You don't even have to build cities with your essense, that's just one of your tools to defeat other Sovereigns. If you want to it should be a viable play option to never build a city. If your player character dies, you die. Why exactly is this a bad thing? You (as the Sovereign) spent your essence to build your empire. You didn't spend the essence of your 'dynasty'. Fi
Well, I know that if Fallen == NonPlayable, no bugs about them should be reported because... well, Fallen == NonPlayable. But I tought I should mention that someone didn't check that screen in Advanced properly (not trying to make anyone feel guilty, mistakes happen and this is minor). Also, Frogboy in the changelog said that advanced was for when custom factionswhen they were possible (which I understood as "not yet but the tech for Advanced button works now").
(Do you want one guy to teleport himself? The Sovreign? That can be debated... entire armies? NO WAY!!)
Silly. If the Sovereign can, the armies can. As simple as that. I wouldn't believe that my Sovereign can raise volcanoes, destroy mountains and everything else, and yet be unable to teleport an army and only himself. Either you ban teleport completely or you leave it as it should be. Forgotten Realms without portals? NO WAY!! Planescape without p

You can actually play as Fallen if you select them from the Advanced option for choosing faction. You can only "choose" Resoln (the very firstone) as you cannot actually choose any other but hitting Next after selecting the tab for Empires of Elemental will let you play with that Fallen faction. If you go back to the choose faction screen and select a Kingdom, you won't be able to select it again unless you use the Advanced option again. Seems a bug because the Fallen Empires are
Well, Fallen were humans. If we are to find weirdos in any faction, that surely will be Fallen land.

Civ borders are fine but I wouldn't mind Stardock trying to improve the topic. What follows is nothing but an extension of the idea I previously mentioned. Should be skipped by anyone not interested and for those who read it, it's nothing more that a first approach I'd use if I were to try to define the system (prepreprepreAlpha). The TL;DR ? 3 kind of borders which a different function each. (yeah, I'm crazy but as I said, just a first approach, which means it could b
