OK. I can take a hint. Fine then, I'll do it. Just let me reorganize my schedule and I'll be ready to work on MoM II... I mean Elemental WoM for you. [e digicons]:P[/e]

It would be nice if some things were a given in level up, while some things were a choice. For example, with the Sovereign, offspring, and champions, base stats like to-hit, hitpoints, and moves should be increased incrementally on each level up. You then get an option to increase other things like STR, INT, etc.

I just wanted to mention that I'm quite surprised at the performance I'm getting on my mediocre machine. I have a Toshiba Notebook with the following specs: Intel Core 2 Duo @2.17GHz 2GB RAM GeForce Go 7900 GTX with 512MB Dedicated. Windows Vista 32-Bit. I'm running the game on maximum quality settings, and while there is some lag, it is a very acceptable amount that is not at all a bother or annoyance to gameplay. Considering tha

In Aussie land here, and the situation is not much better. I went to GAME, the main competitor to EB and pre-ordered Elemental. I was told the release date was Aug 19 (which I knew was BS as the U.S release date was Aug 24). When I went to call them on it, they told me it had been pushed back to the 'I don't know what' of September. I then purchased the LE from Impulse which is not available here. Just out of curiosity, I waited until about October 5th to see if I'd hear from them, which not

I hate consoles so much that when I bought a Wii for my little brother, I had to put it in an empty PC case just to hide my shame. On the topic of soft-core porn, the consoles are already designed to be forwards compatible with that engineering path. I will demonstrate: XBOX becomes SexBOX. XBOX 360 becomes SexBOX 69. Playstation becomes Gaystation. Dreamcast becomes Reamcast. Gamecube becomes the main rival of Gaystation, as Gaycube.</p

Long ago, an athiest went up to a man of religion and said, "If your God is so great, tell me how He can punish Satan by damning him to burn in Hell, if Satan himself is a creature of fire?" The man of religion looked sternly at the athiest for a moment and didn't speak. He then bent over

I like the idea of a Sovereign being temporarily out of commission when they escape a battle. Regarding the dynasty card, I have a query. If a player's heirs can take over for them, won't that force opponents to have to hunt down and kill all of an enemies lineage to win a conquest victory? If so, that could get a little tedious. Perhaps defeating a Sovereign in combat will cause them to be banished for a period. But if you also demolish or take over their home city, that Sove

The best user interface is one that a user doesn't even realise they're using! The cloth map is a beautiful example of this. Instead of having a screen pop-up with 'Kingdom Info', why don't we go to the private study of the sovereign or the steward, and take a look at those parchments on the desk there. Instead of a mini-map, have a crystal ball. For diplomacy, instead of selecting from a list of icons representing each rival and double-clicking to talk to some

I love the way things are going. My only real gripe is with the proposed sharing of the mana pool. It hasn't been explained yet in a way that makes sense to me, so I'll have to wait and see. But if you have your sovereign and other spell casting units all draw from the same source of mana, it takes away the individuality of the caster, and it becomes more difficult to differentiate the power and limits of each magic user. I have stated this before, but I will put it briefly by saying

I really don’t know what percentages, etc. would be effective. However, consider the pace of the battle given the above ‘round’ system&helli

[quote quoting="post"] 1) Battle Setup: So far we are getting an initiative system, which could be very cool. Many of us have also asked for some way to setup our forces before a battle starts so that we can apply better tactics. I think this will be especially important since SD says that 1.1 will encourage larger armies. I could see this being done in two ways. 1) Same as current where units are basically randomly thrown on the map, but allow players to reposition units within their de

A magic strategy game without teleportation sounds strange to me. So far I like random_target's idea best, but I think we should also have something in the way of a magic spell. I think the Riftwar by Feist is a good place to brainstorm from. In that story, they had rifts that were part device and part spell/magic. So we'll say that fits in pretty well with what random_target was saying. As far as spells go, teleportation came in 3 types as far as I recall. Firstly the
