Wow, just wow, evaluation for release status in the summer. I'm getting all giddy; you really do want a metacrtitic of 90+ heh.
DrAtomic1
Aye, switched to medium maps here myself; my system doesnt seem to be able to handle large maps. Still plenty of crashes on medium maps too. I just hit the send button on the ms crash reporter everytime faithfully... :)
jeah lol... Not sure what caused it but hese two kingdom units were previously in the influence area of an empire city which I took (only thing I can really think of that triggered this). Also note how the first hero actually has the city build around him.
Also kind of a key question I struggled with in my first play through... Q. How do you build a second city? A. You have to build a pioneer and find a spot that supports cities again; best way of doing that is activate the show yields button. Know that cities have to be at least 6 tiles apart from each other and that locations that allow for cities are really hard to find later in the game so expand early. The pioneer has two buttons, settle will build a new city and outp
The choice SD made here is a good one; first get the basis in place. Make sure the game is rock solid and fun; then add MP through an extension. They are well on their way of succeeding and certainly are making every effort they can plus a little bit more like we are used from SD. 1. Make the base game fun, addictive and replayable and a commercial success will follow. 2. With success an expansion will see the light and knowing SD that will bring MP. You have to
With regards to dilpomacy; I assume from having used the system that it is mainly based around the strength value granted to your faction. But that often doesnt represent the reality. I.e. my lousy 93 strength versus 550+ strenght of an aggressive faction results in them asking me for tributes of around 5000+ gildar, when I dont pay they deck me. I then whoop all their armies and champions with no or nearly no losses. I then fully expect to be able to reverse the drama and demand 5000+
How do you get a hold of a dragon? I've heard of the possible Dragon (as reward) via Curgen's Hold, and then there are the Drakes, Ophidians, and Naga that can be built with Serpent's Pact civ trait ... But what is this about Dragons?
Well... If it breathes fire and sweeps it's tail then it's a dragon in my book... Even if they are named Drake
Hmmm so this might be a bug that is only in my game then... Wierd.
Try to mod the army movement speeds and double them all see if that helps your preference? BTW; I suffer from neither these problems but I tend to dig myself in, let the computer destroy all his best stuff on me and then come out for a bit of fresh air. I either use a dragon or a heavy armor unit for damage absorption and archers to kill all off all before they reach the archers. Then i take those leveled archers and heavy armor and go take a juicy city from them. Meanwhile I di
I;ve had heroes use them and i had designed a unit which carried them too. That particular unit reached level 12 (squad) and still did only 1 damage for the entire squad. So basicly units equiped with knives always do 1 damage even though the to-hit calculation window says it shoulkd be average 4 per member of that squad.
As a side note; a lot of the descriptions have a mismatch between the tooltip and the description window (ie Hosten's Library says 100% to research in the description but 30% in the tooltip), there are quite a few of them that have similar mismatches. Most likely a left over from an earlier nerf or tweak. Are we sure the adventurer's guild only provides a 25% towards 1 xp point? It kinda feels like its 25% towards level up.
Update 3: I won! Victory from what looked like a total defeat at the beginning of the game... whooohooo End of game stats here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/419211 2 things, holy cow what is that Dragon quest about... last part was 5 dragons plus an epic dragon; my 1500+ strenght army wirh Relias was owned in 2 turns (Dragons cast fear fear fear and some more fear then stumped my entire army). Reload-cheat ftw.</p
Did you update your grpahic card drivers? Check Dell site but also Intel site (normally Dell is behind by a year or so).
6. Bah, I clinched a total annhiliation victory after having been completly defeated and cityless myself early in the game (see report in beta 2 journal thread), I do the impossible and get rewarded with a measily epoc rank just above Januks? At least I'm above Januks heh. I guess the question mark ranks are there on purpose and will be revealed once you reach that rank? 7. Being dropped bac
4. Wait, again??? No wonder the CPU was able to tech ahead of me so much. Looks really dodgy. 5. Huh, what are those wierd might spikes. Might my ass he won only one battle out of hundreds not counting retakes of undefended cities. &
1. click on image for large resolutiuon (really annoying that forum doesnt allow us to upload images, but whatever). As seen on the overview the game had 5 opononents but those allready dead at the end of the game have their image missing. 2. Wait, what.. What is going on here; is the computer cheating? Game was played on normal. Income bounces up and down per turn, no wonder they were able to c
When you use manablast the amount of damage dealt with it doesnt display in after battle report. Say I've dealt 425 damage with it during a battle using my soveriegn then the sovereign is listed as having done no damage in the battle report.
Even though the to hit window displays different stats throwing knives always do 1 damage. At least in my game. Early on I found some throwing knives as loot and used them on a champ. Later on I started building horse units that also had the throwing knives, maybe it's related somehow. Anyway never saw them do more then 1 damage even if it was a company using them.
Ok, so I've killed Lord Malarkin about 30 times or so and lately he simply grabs a new army and comes at me again the very next turn (with whatever health he recovered in that one turn). Could it be that the recover penalty doesnt kick in for sovereigns once they get all negative traits? Anyway issue is that enemy sovereigns dont need to restore.
Update2: suffered a CTD last night; no error message, FE simply dissappeared; no crash report was generated so couldnt send anything... :/ System specs: WinXP, 2GB, NVIDIA GTX 7950 GO 1GB (Dell XPS M1710). Memory management seems to be a lot better ran for at least 3 hours between 94% and 98% memory in use with some slow downs and loss of sound but without crashing untill the CTD happened. Play through wise: I was stuck in a hole having sacrificed my one and only city and was ci

aha only usefull against powerfull high level spells. roger. thanks
Voted Fair. Ok, got around to playing it. First game I started was a large world with 4x anti-aliasing turned on. Boy game was irresponsive and choppy. Guess my dual core 2GB winxp rig doesnt cut it hehehe. Retired and restarted a medium world without AA on normal around 21:00, looked at the clock around 02:00 and thought well one more turn... that turn ended at 06:45 to my total disbelief and utter shock. General impression I got is that it feels like a streamlined version of WoM and
Hehehe I survived by escaping my city with my army, taking an enemy city selling off one item worth 4200 gildar and bouncing from enemy city to enemy city. From there I destroyed 2 factions their entire armies over and over and over untill they started throwing junk at me then took over 3 more cities. Only problem is I'm unable to defend those cities lol plus they now start throwing knights at me who are causing me losses (my dear and poor level 8 and 9 armies).
Ideally each faction has a set of spells, abilities, army weapons (flaming swords) and effects that are unique to their faction and upon creating a new game all factions get assigned a couple of those but not all of them out of their faction pool. In that way the factions are unique but also unique game to game. Thinking about each faction having their own pool with (say 3 per label, randomly gets one per label per game): -. unique spells -. unique abil
