I couldnt figure this out for the life of me. When ever I try to cast counterspell it says the target needs to be casting a spell. Is it simply a matter of there being some spells i havent seen yet that the caster continues to cast or is it meant to be able to dispell things like obscuring fog (which doesnt work if thats the case).

I used a scroll of escape in a city defense; instead of the scroll teleporting my army back to my capital it teleported me outside the city I was defending (cornered in a spot where the only available movement spot was to attack that same city again; thus in order to rescue my champions I had to sacrifice them against that same city I tried to flee from). This city was not my capital, just some random city I conquered. According to the decription of the scroll of escape it should take

Havent played yet, so havent voted either. But from reading all the posts FE suffers from exactly the same thing that WoM suffered from. Lack of replayability. What most people describe as we want different factions, heh, even if it means launching with 3 or 4, they really are saying we only see 2 factions in the sense of empire and kingdom. Going back to WoM what did I do? I powerplayed 3 to 4 games and then I simply lost interest because it was all the same. I found
Jup, that video drew me back in to. Looks promising for sure.
Love that last screenshots, really dig it, the others feel, well a bit empty in the wom way (love the choke points on some of the other maps though). Maybe it's due to the forests and the lighting on the last one? Dunno.
I applaud this decision! Just watched Brad's alpha footage and must say that it looks inviting, certainly gave me a *want* *now* vibe. I went from hmmm always nice to get a freebee to wow really cant wait to start playing this.
1.2b Thoughts: 2) I also agree (as others have stated) that the citizens requirements for new buildings are too much. I'll conquer a city and then have to wait 50+ turns before I can build anything else because I am at negative 300 citizens.
Are we sure we arent talking tactics here; I never have an issue with cities I conquer; heh I increase their pop cap when taking them but then again I spend a lot of resourc

Bit worried about all the con reductions, real happy with the army healing, allthough I believe it should take them one turn to rest in order to allow counterattacking that weakend army with another army if you lost the previous fight. Wow, what's with all the negativity... Everyone knew 1.2 was a bug/memory fix patch and 1.3 would be a feature patch.

Curious how much Impulse banked for... :D About Brad selling; consider this: -. Your love for the industry stems from programming. -. Your bank account >= 3 million (i.e. settled for life). -. You own a company that makes heaps of money and grows fast. -. The quarterly reports mean not much more then a highscore anymore. -. 2011 was suppossed to be a sabatical year allowing you to do what you love. -. The company growing means lots of worries
Funny enough there is a lot of quality to be found in the middle market, sure often it's geared towards niches but at least it's often more in depth. Both middle and upper market suffer from the same syndrom though, copy-catting. Example Battlefield:Bad Company was a real good game because it gave an arcadish feel, however the success of Call of Duty meant that BF:BC2 was forced to be a Call of Duty clone loosing the arcadish feel and with that loosing the fun that BF:BC gave. Middle
Meh, download the demo and decide for yourself. Personally I was disgusted with the "Tekken" style combat and decided not to buy, others may love it though.

Some of the memory issues seem to be coming from the eventmanager on the right hand, seems that if you dont close the events and leave them in opened state (in combination with auto turn option) and next -> next -> next your turns it seems to create the dreaded OOM crashes around 200 turns for me (winxp-32bits-2GB).
hmmm, what's with the angst of having a game within a game... UFO: Enemy Defense was basicly 3 games in one and it sits on most peoples top 10 alltime lists. ... /throws hope of exploration~tactical system based on UFO:Defense combat system out of the window
Jup the guy with the stick in the last step of the mastery quest is totally out of whack to the point that I simply reloaded and left it to rot.
Why did he get very angry at his friends on other forums about the state of the release
This is understandable, they had been doing 12-14 hour days 7days per week for months on end. They were worn down. Brad also clearly said that in retrospect he lost the birdseye view of the game state due to him being on the team himself. He also had put his company name at stake by stating that he wanted to make the best strategy rpg game of the decade. Then there is the passion ele
Days like these make a stardock products buying customer feel like he just relocatted into a candy store... :D WTB: crashy, wormhole creating, use at your own peril build... :D
It's a tech race (one of the features not accesible in the campaign but only in sandbox mode), better quality units act the exact opposit; obliterating enemies and armies whilst being nigh invulnerable...
