Well worth 40 bucks for the ultimate edition!

Holy cow I'm getting whooped on a normal world and all AI on challenging... Going back to normal lol. Ow and Altar are very very very annoying city spammers, even if allied with them they keep spamming cities next to my borders and stealing my resources away over time. Other game i killed about 10 pioneers of them and then he dropped a pioneer right in my influence zone next to 2 crystal mines (right next to the one I had under control and build on). This build seems a lot more stable
W oot woot a bug smasher!!!!
Awesome news, welcome onboard Jon! Hope you succeed in assisting to make Elemental an Epic game!
So I am guessing that guys like the OP believe Sid Meier is the bane of the gaming sim industry because one day he created a game called civilization Revolution? Pathetic...
Errr CivRev rocked hardore! Modern version of CIV I. The thing with it was to be able to look beyond comparing it to CIV IV. CivRev is a very good game.
Hmmmm Jon Shafer does seem to know Brad... soooo.... http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/civilizationv/222/interview.html Would it be true? That'd be awesome! Also his Twitter from 31st dec points into an annoucement soon; this is soon in my book... :D
Dedicate a city to studies in order to catch up? Dont fall behind? Make tech trade treaties?
3 new people on the elemental dev team and a huge list of coming improvements is pretty big news isnt it?
Mr. Brad, your commitment on Elemental and more in general to customer satisfaction is commendable, but from what you show us in your list I think it would be easier to completely rewrite the game reusing only some portable parts, more than trying to fix or change that huge amount of features! As many other players/customers I bought Elemental the day it was made available on Impulse, but after trying the single player c
Hmmm ties in nicely with the whole successor discussion , not sure if'd go the complicated way but liking the first part of the idea stops the landrush as well.
Unlike other games Elemental isn't a game about an empire (in Civilization you aren't playing Stalin or Washington, you are playing Russia or America), its about your sovereign.
Hmmm, that may have been the original intend but with so many heroes to care for, cities to build, trade, diplomacy, exploration, neighboors to manage... It is just that, a fantasy empire building game (Civ Fantasy if you will). There is not
Doubt this is the place for it, but i'll drop in a few I found as well, also does sending crash rapports to microsoft help at all (ie does it ever come back to Stardock)? My input so far: 4) Save game screen has garbeled text over it @1920x1200 (but is fully functional). 5) When a city is idle and you complete research the build improvements screen pops-up. 6) In the campaign the closed elemental gate (final mission book 1) message keeps popping up everytime
Eurhm I've got a really lame question for the faq that isnt covered; how and where do you use magic?
WinXP 32-bit, nvidia 7950gtx (512MB), dual core, 2GB ram. Same issue in sandbox mode not in campaign.
Hmm, I understand the one strategy to rule all games argument, Galciv had 2 solutions as far as i remember for it being 1. racial differances in both bonusses and tech tree and 2. limited random availability of resources (i.e. good planets and other goodies). Yet I still stopped playing it after a while mainly due to boredom/feeling of repetiviness. Strangely enough I never felt that way with say C&C: Red Alert 2 (i know different game, different pacing but strategic nonetheless). <p
Ow and a bit of feedback regarding the less than involved world feeling, I dont know if it's the big difference maker but I do feel the graphics of Age of Wonders and <a title="homm assorted images" href="http://had0c.blogspot.com/2010/09/heroes-of-might-and-magic-3-and.html" target
I approved the necessary budget in December to fund Elemental for both 2011 and 2012 (most of Stardock's revenue comes from other parts of the company -- we don't live or die on our game sales but we care deeply about our games).
Games by gamers for gamers for real!
Please please please please please please please please add memory management to the game, the game crashing with an Out Of Memory error is just plain old 1992 silly. If you can detect you my vid card surely you can tell my system has 2 GB and surely it can tell how much of that is reservered/used by other processes and surely it can then told not to use more/reuse its memory spaces/release unused memory. Heck if it means the game will run somewhat slower, meh, thats my choice, I could always
Happy New Year to both Stardock and players alike!
Just chipping in to say that I'd rather play an Artificial Intelligence (AI) then an Artificial Cheat (AC).
