OK thanks. The Manual seems very sparse on much information, such as spells. Is there a Spellbook anywhere? One thing you may also want to update is information about statistics; the section of "Combat" has no information whatsoever on defense, armor, to-hit rolls, spell resistance, or anything of that sort.

Not sure if this is a bug or simply greatly suboptimal AI, but I have even purposefully tested this a few times, and leaving my largest cities entirely undefended, and having a sizable and significant enemy AI at open war with me within 2 squares of city centre, results in the AI simply wandering past. What goals are these armies following? It doesn't seem as if they have any, since they are blithely missing opportunities right at hand to reap large rewards at no risk.
Oops sorry this is for 1.1 LH, not FE. Sorry please delete.

1. I am not sure I understand where the Gildar sink is. I only seem to need special materials and labor for constructing or training, and Gildar only for wages. What am I supposed to spend it on? 2. Fame doesn't seem to get me more population, only Champions. Is that right? 3. Food is local, so that you cannot trade surplus between cities -- correct? 4. The only disadvantage to having many cities (as opposed to outposts) is Unrest, which seems quite easily co
I don't see a button for the manual anywhere, nor a download link on Steam. I'd like to be able to print it out. Am I missing something obvious?
Or is that particularly difficult?
I've already got 1.1 up and running, but whenever I launch the game, Steam launches. Is there a way to play in offline mode, so that Steam does not have to connect to the internet?
I still think this could be implemented.
Shouldn't be hard, right?
This has been bugging me since Elemental came out, and so I will post it once again here. Some screens, notably the Ledger (hotkey: "K") will not shut when you hit the hotkey again, nor when you hit escape. In fact, the only way I can get the screen to close is by using the mouse to manually click "cancel" or "done". Can we PLEASE shut screens with escape, or with another hotkey? Also, some screens, most notably all of the other screen tabs on the ledger screen, are stil
I see some mention of 1.1, and I guess it is not released yet, but I'm not sure how to update LH, since I am not a Steam freak and prefer to play offline whenever possible. Do I have to activate Steam to update, or may I update through the beloved Stardock Store, or through the game menu itself? (I see no option to search for updates in the Main Menu.) Thank you
whew, good, thank you. Stardock has an EXCELLENT digital distribution system in the store https://store.stardock.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/myaccount/products I think it's genius, smooth and simple, and love how it is web-only. I am a longstanding customer and would cherish it if your products were (also) obtainable here. I'm not saying *only* or exclusively obtainable here, but at leas
No worries about a one-time verification on a new computer, but since I am still waiting for Steam to complete download, .... you have to be logged into Steam to play?!? So I need an internet connection to play a single-player game once I have downloaded and installed? Really, like Blizzard's battle.net? If that's the case, shame shame shame.
Thank you. I wasn't sure if Steam was like the Stardock download manager (which I much prefer) or if it had some kind of download-count which then forbids you to download a second time without further monetary investment.
Seems the fourth time is the charm. Seems to be working now, apparently downloading. Can I DL this again when I get a new computer next month when I get back to Germany, or do I need to save the download and somehow transfer it to the new computer? Thank you
Thank you!! This is the step that I had actually found, and seems broken to me. In my OP I wrote that when I do this, I get the popup "scanning for updates" or "scanning for products", which hangs. I had to use task manager to shut down Steam after 30 minutes. Is it a problem on my end?
I was surprised (and saddened!) to see that I cannot download LH through the Stardock Store (which I love), but at Steam. I have a Steam account, and logged in successfully, but I see no way to enter my serial number (which I can see both on the confirmation email and on my page on the Stardock Store) for LH on Steam. All I see is an option to purchase it for $39.99, while I am simply attempting to download my copy. I've tried both the Steam website and the Steam client. Granted, I d
[quote who="Derek Paxton" reply="24" id="3339502"] I do tend to design things based on how fun they are instead of realism (and people have different opinions on how much realism plays into making the game fun). So I like spears and crossbow mechanics even though they are very gamey (especially crossbows). But it sounds like a great opportunity for a mod. Im sure some people would enjoy more realistic weapon effects (even the damage types are still in, they just n
Couldn't agree less.
I agree that it has "added a lot", but I think that with spears it has added a lot of wrongness. It feels goofy to me, cheesy, and wrong. Mounts seem to be a no-brainer (which is bad, very bad), and I hope they got more expensive or nerfed or have some sort of drawback, but the very least they could have is some form of counter. Spears seem to be the natural one for it (and, in fact, long pointed sticks were used to great effect to counter mounted charges). It would still "add s
While working over the UI for LH, could you please consider the following difficulties still in FE: 1. Currently, we cannot close some panels/screens, most notably the Ledger, but also most others screens, such as City Details, with a hotkey. Normally, the default ESC should do this; if for whatever reason this appears suboptimal, then hitting the hotkey which calls up the screen in question should do this, e.g. hitting "d" again should close city details, or hitting "k" again s
Could you please include some rudimentary form of range in tactical combat? It feels so counterintuitive that bowmen have an equal chance to hit at point blank than at targets on the far edge of the map. It could be something very easy such as: - each weapon or ranged spell has a base "range" at which all to-hit rolls are made without penalty. - for every tile beyond the base range, there is a base -5 to hit, or -10 to hit, or whatever. One could imagine thro
Spears hitting multiple targets with one hit feels really wrong to me as a specialty of this type of weapon. Couldn't they have something more sensible, such as a greatly enhanced bonus when counterattacking or a defensive bonus when defending against counterattacks? Ideally, there would be something like mounted units, against which spears should have a bonus, or increased melee range, but I see that will not be happening. Impaling multiple enemies feels counterintuitive, cheesy, a
Thanks both of you. Yes, I had considered Asus primarily because of the cooling system, which seems clever. I'm sure I can get the processor anywhere. Are you saying that Lenovo y580 has a comparible one? I had had a Lenovo about 10 years ago, but it was just a fairly generic thing about which I can remember nothing. In which was is a smaller screen advantageous besides being lighter? So you are saying the difference in graphics cards is not really going to b
