Downloaded today, 5gb and a total blast to play. The only thing I don't like is that vendors don't use currency, instead they pay you in other generic items when you sell stuff. Like, sell a magical breastplate, get 4 scrolls of wisdom used to identify magical items you find.
Actually, those scrolls are currency -- the lowest form, but currency none the less. You sell them crap, you get paid tuppenc

My three-year old Sony Vaio laptop has served me very well. I currently play PoE on it, nothing spectacular, but it does well. It is, however, slowly dying, and I will need to replace it. Ideally, I would be able to purchase a good laptop online, ideally in the US, with a German keyboard, but barring that, in Germany, where everything is more expensive. Yey! where or which are the new spells, however? :)
I will miss blunt / piercing / cutting and prestige! but if tactical is otherwise improved, I am hopeful
Yes, actually, I like to roleplay my champions a bit and prefer to arm them accordingly and flexibly. In some situations, I want to be primarily ranged, in others, melee. Using a bow in melee range just feels wrong. I have no problem with an initiative penalty for switching weapons.
Yes, it should cost the traditional "action point" penalty. Wielding both a bow and a sword simultaneously is a bit ridiculous even for fantasy.
I agree that tough choices are good, but that in the case of Champion weaponry, this is not one of them. The main reason is this: We already have in place a system of upgrades upon leveling that each Champion may invest in; these involve choices. Normally, one might go down the path that most RPG fans know: minimaxing your advantages and specialize. That is, a Champion who wants to wield a bow will probably not want to invest in special melee damage bonuses, and vice versa. Yet, one cou
Yes! But having ranged attacks lose x% per square past the y'th square, would be good to add now. (Admitted: adding Line of Sight is too complex for a patch). Whereby y could be "point blank range", inherent trait of each ranged weapon. (Some might even have a PB range of 20, such as magic staves; just an idea.) And x might be something like 5 as default, whereby this number can be modified by an archer's skill, magical blessings, or the quality of the bow.
WAD, except the sweep thing I think.
:(
Oh! Is that an oversight? Something that will be patched soon? Or WAD? Seems very odd to me. If I can't switch weapons to melee, there isn't much point in carrying them around. Also, if I cannot switch weapons, then it seems that melee abilities such as "sweep" should be disabled if no melee weapon is equipped or equippable.
I have a bow equipped, but my sovereign also carries a sword and throwing knives in his inventory. How can I switch to these when in tactical? When I use his "sweep" skill, it uses the bow graphic in the animation, and appears to do the damage listed on the bow in the sweep melee attack
WAD.
oh ok thank you. :(
Casting Blessing of Restoration uses the listed mana, but has no noticeable effect (no mana is reserved, targeted Sovereign is unable to cast Heal).
Or am I mistaken and this would actually require quite a bit of work?
Is this WAD? I could have sworn that range decreases chance to hit, and that line of sight was implemented, am I wrong?
Is it intentional that bow users have the same chance to hit at point blank than when target is on other side of screen and line of sight is obscured? Why fall behind Age of Wonders here?
FE is looking better and better with each patch! Still two quirky UI issues that appear easy to address and have not yet been fixed, hope this helps: 1. Currently, we cannot close some panels/screens, most notably the Ledger, but also most others, such as City Details, with a hotkey. Normally, the default ESC should do this; if for whatever reason this appears suboptimal, then hitting the hotkey which calls up the screen in question should do this, e.g. hitting "d" again s

It won't be as big of a change as FE was to WOM but it's pretty significant. I think the best way to describe it will be a tightening of the game mechanics so that they are more related to one another. You're going on quests to help your civilization. You're champions are a reflection of your civilization and vice vers

That's quite interesting. Anything else going on since mid December?
Oddly enough, there are only 12 scores on Metacritic for Fallen Enchantress , while Elemental:War of Magic had 19 critics. Why is there less interest in reviewing the sequel? Also, there seem to a be a few reviews to which Island Dog linked in the News section that never made it to Metacritic. Why? Interestingly, while FE scor
Yes, but if I am allied with everyone, and they are allied with everyone as well? If there are only 3 parties in the game left, and if A and B are allies, and I ally either of them, then that party I ally (say, A) will also immediately fulfill the conditions, because A is still an ally of B and now an ally of mine; we both fulfill the conditions simultaneously?
