The rate of evolution is increasing, not decreasing. Medicine, trams, stress(glands), welfare, all of it just increases the biodiversity and rate of mutation. The problem with idiocy is the mentality of the people and not the world itself. All the problems not involving your work or house is for someone else to fix. When the neighbourhood reports more crime you blame the police for being bad at policing, not the neighbours who forgot to lock the door. Responsibility is wildly mi

Your sovereign (maybe some of the champions you teach magic too) can change the wasted land or the land of the opposite alignment into land of your alignment. This costs essence. You can only build cities on land of your alignment, yet if the land already is your alignment you have no need for the Revive Land spell. The kingdoms have the green grass and the fall the black brimstone. Everything else (swamps, deserts, barrens) are all wasted lands.
Neither am I, but I can code and I have a will. That should go a long way... hopefully [e digicons]:D[/e]
There is a crest creator in the bag of mod things. Or rather I have seen a screen and they haven't denied it. It seems to use the basic parts that are already in there, ie the tree, eagle, wolf, etc, but it should be easy to add your own. I can't find the post now, but it is out there somewhere.
From what I know of 3d environs it is hard to change the available platforms once you have begun. Things like OpenGL are platform free and can replace DirectX (which is windows only), yet once you have begun using one, it is hard to change to another. I have never made 3d games myself, yet if you rely on dependencies (which every game engine does) it is hard to switch once you have started using one, unless they are very similar which from what I understand DX and OpenGL are deliberately not.
Just look at the number of people who donated. And this is for indie developers who spent no money on drm and payed nothing for the advertisement that they received for free once everyone heard of the pack. Even if they received 9.18/7 $ each, isn't that more than they would have made on the games without the pack? Maybe they lost on a few customers but if they instead have three times the customers, they would in all likelihood still profit on the deal.
I really don't care how you use the options, I never intended for it to be a mod in it's own right. It might make others' mods better and the vanilla game more varied. And I won't bother with lore for them. I probably won't add a nationoption that allows you to train visceral combat kittens unless enough people ask me to or someone wants it for their mod. 1. Nation 2. Lazy 3. Avg change, negative cost 4. Lowers pr
Pirates can play games without disks, so why do publishers still demand the disk to be in the drive when you play? That's one thing I don't get at all. It hinders the consumer more than it stops a pirate. Impulse and steam fix this problem by replacing them with new ones. (One login at a time even if you only play separate games.) But it is still a nice trade since they have other advantages.
Dragon Age, good epic story with nice dialogue, like rebooted NWN without multiplayer. Which was one of NWNs strong points btw. ME1, good story and good characters, very poor gameplay. On harder difficulties I just walked past the non-vital enemies instead of fighting them. ME2, odder story but better dialogue. Best dialogue I've seen in a game. Gameplay was arcade -ized (new word I think) so that it was actually more fun. The characters were worse than ME1 imo and the story s
It is so fun to watch outlanders ramble on. [e digicons][/e] Here in Sweden we have a Pirate Party that intends to legalize distribution of stuff on internet. Ie piracy. I won't vote for them (since they have a lot of funny ideas about other stuff), but we have enough people with internet connections (according to some sources (guiness I think) worldleading in per capita) and knowledge of torrents for them to have a large chance to make it into the "riksdag" [Parliamentish].
It's just terminology ffs. There is the Egalitarian trait as well as the ability to choose without penalty whatever gender we want. It is like saying "That ape was sure manlike." then complaining that the sentence is discriminating. I'm not trying to speak for everyone, but who gives? When they start giving the women worse stats we might start shouting unfairness. Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me... (I know that the Egalitarian trait costs a point even
From Impulse, an older build judging from the ui, but at least they wanted it there in the first place. I hope it makes it into the final build.
I plan on doing exactly this when I get the mod tools, you can check out my post: https://forums.elementalgame.com/386230
Look at this link: I made a reply I think would work on page 2. https://forums.elementalgame.com/386232 And global resources are just creepy. Faction treasury, even materials and metals can be stockpiled in a vault, but food can't. Global food should be taken out, maybe you can send a food caravan that has diminshed effect after distance. But a city on one side of the world should not feed one on the other. EDIT: Forgot to
About the cities: Levelling cities! Awesome. [e digicons]B)[/e] I like the current placement, you can in 1 second see how large the city is. And give an estimate to it's importance. Lots of 2x2 or just a small pile of one square buildings. https://forums.elementalgame.com/386174 This is cool too. A suggestion to the problem: Everyone can feed themselves if the land is not barren, and by building the gardens, farms etc. we
Frogboy said something cool in this post: https://forums.elementalgame.com/386232/ Reply # 17 If this is the case perhaps we research the books we have. We might all start with the four elemental books and the life/death one, and in sov creation you choose one (or more) of the books to specialize in. In turn they cost around 10-15 points instead of the measly 3 they do now. This would make that jack of all trades much harder to ha
My random map generation is haywire since I always start near 2 fertile grounds (and 5 or so other resources). I've never built a garden so far in beta 3. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
I don't like the way you select some thing as they are now, and once we start making addons it would just be horrifying to select the thing that fits you. here are three easy 7 second photoshops showing my suggestion for how to fix it. By menu I mean a scrollable grid view that shows as many of the selectable assets as possible. There you click the one that looks best. <img src
It could be a resource... A "Defensible Position" and then a pioneer has to go out to it and claim it. Easy to add, harder to code it for general purpose. You could even add a spell that makes a defensible position. Just a thought.
We can get power from the oceans. There are some really funky ideas that are both financially viable and clean, if new and untried. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocean_thermal_energy_conversion http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osmotic_power http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wave_power <a
I find the city building fun. The resources aren't balanced yet, but I've yet to encounter a severe lack with any of them in Beta 3. The thing that balances most now (for me anyway) is the build time, since I might not want to wait 15 turns for that palace to appear. EDIT: Well the food is a bit awkward if functional. Can't say exactly why though.
And we want everyone to think the environment is our biggest concern. Oh yes... We're not developing and selling weapons for money. The NWO has higher plans. I think "Småjävlarnas Klan" is the most suiting in that case Wintersong. But then again without a functioning mod, the finer spelling is low priority. Agree there. There are a few much more comical things that the people would call them, but those might not be very fitting. And you have already gotten me intere
A trio for starters: 1. Nation (Or a replacement for the vanilla thief sov background) 2. Land of Thieves 3. Big change 4. You can hire theives who can steal others' gold. 5. The thieves can try to sneak into a rival (allied too) city and attempt to pilfer some gold. The size and level of the city decides how much gold you can steal. The garrison and several buildings make it harder ot succeed. If it's a f
Here is the list (I took the liberty of adding the sov ones from Tasunke at https://forums.elementalgame.com/387469 ) (The ones I did not add arre either too like ones that are already or I don't see the way to add them. Is there phys resist in the game at all?) Sovereigns : The positive ones: Various unarmed skills. +atk, +abilities, +others<
Well, let me put it like this. I find a few dozen options not to be a list large enough to create 50+ very distinct nations. The sovereigns also lack options. The cure? Whining? No! Mods. Or an addon. Which is just a mod that doesn't modify. In either case I will call it an addon. A community addon. The goal is to add lots of options to the vanilla game but also to any mods that anyone makes. All in all, make custom character creation more varied and fun. They should be compat
