They know about the boring background traits, they said that somewhere earlier, and they will add more visual options later. They said that too I think. But yes and I choose abilities that are on paper less useful just because they fit the character. The only two really impacting builds I have found purely gamewise are the bard+charisma adventurer spam and the mage+researcher. Something needs changing anyway.

Maybe every caster has a maximum number of enchantments and every one increases the cost to cast spells. Makes te harder spells impossible if you ahve many enhantments and prevents you from running around spamming magic on everything.

This would be excellent for the larger more epic games. Where cities will get a history. The same for nations? 1. A nation which has been in war for 200 turns straight with more than one nation gains less prestige but increased combat skill and/or starting training level. 2. A nation that has betrayed several allies gains the Turncoat which makes it harder to forge an allliance, but maybe can more easily train assassins or something similar. 3. A nation that has defeat

I mean the they look identical. It is like an expansion that doesn't add gameplay. It's not the engine I demand it is a new game when I buy a new game. I don't want Fallout 3 but more. Fallout 3 was great, I loved oblivion and Fallout 3 was like a revision of Oblivion with plenty of good parts from the Fallout world. (I think of Fallout 3 more of a successor of Oblivion than of Fallout 2.) Fallout 3 has the same engine and the same underlying visuals as oblivion (except the trees have been nu

Diablo 3 Elemental Starcraft 2 Shogun 2 TW Old Republic, if it is free from grind Portal 2 Civ 5 Crysis 2 Deus Ex 3: HR Close to this order too. I won't buy Fallout NW because it just looks like a franchise exploit to me.

Ikea is not evil, it just efficient. [e digicons]}:)[/e] "There is no evil nor good. Only the dead and the standing." "Småjävlarnas Klan" Might be the closest thing to the meaning of little bastards clan without using the "oäkting" which literally means bastard like in bastard child. But I assume this isn't the bastard you were looking for.

Haha, all the swedish are evil. Makes me happy. [e digicons][/e] You might want to revise the name "Små Jävlarna", it would translate to "little buggers" rather than the direct translation of small devils which you might have intended. "Little buggers clan" is what I would translate it to, this might be what you want but it sounds odd to me. I suggest something like "Små Vättars Klan" since "en vätte" is a mix of goblin and fairy from swedish folklore.

1. Hide unit 2. Strategic maybe tactic for way more mana 3. 20 or something 4. 3-4 to cast, around 1 to maintain (depends on target) 5. Air shard perhaps 6.Hides one unit from the enemy, must be near the caster, doesn't effect champions 7. Air? 8. To trick your openents, the ai should judge army size from the seen. 1. Illusion 2-8. Like above but creates an illusionary unit that vanishes when combat s

Does the raise mountains/land have a cooldown or can you box in a city/landlock them in one turn? That would be kinda sweet if I was the one doing the the magic, less so otherwise. Can the land be torn apart if you raise and lower it often enough? For when you and an enemy share a pass that you open, they close etc.

Before it was an art, now it is an industry. There will always be the general blandness, there always is. One thing I have stopped liking is the USP , which I almost ignore entirely. Several of the bad bits are added there just to have them. You did mention it, but I will further point it out. Some games promise the moon in these but at best deliver a lump of rock. In the "old days" games didn't have the scale, marketing val

I would like the ones that are in to be more obvious, maybe some glowing particles that travel upward like most loot effects in games. But I would also like "hidden ones" that aren't even visible on the cloth map, adds a bit of random and makes exploration more about discovery instead of a route charted out between whatever huts you can see.

[quote who="Tridus" reply="25" id="2666812"] quoting post It only costs essence if you need to revive the land from the OPPOSITE ideology’s magic source (LIFE vs. DEATH). So barren land doesn’t need essence to build a town on anymore. But if you’re a Kingdom you can’t just waltz into Imperial terraformed land and pop down a city without paying for it. I'm assuming there's no cost if I take one of their cities? If I do that, do I have to demolish and conv

Aesthetics beat graphics as well. Some games have superb graphics but they just fill lifeless scenes. Here is a list that I made a while back: Functionality, must be playable Engaging, you must want to play it Usable, you must be able to use it (here goes basic graphics that elevate it beyond Ascii, interface too) Atmosphere, basic sound+aesthetic style+some lighting Random or Replayable, a bit of all, but some games you play for ages while others are f

Reply to Cheats? in War of Magic

Look at the modding video. He is teleporting an ogre around. They will very likely include a debug mode which you can "cheat" from. I don't think they will add a cheat system however.

Yeah, the inheritance is pretty much a patch of dead ground now. I just do it for the heck of it, since the only benefit it has is giving you free units. There is no fun in it right now

It works as it is, and Ibonk is not a word that raises the esrb rating as far as I know. I had someone called "Yuwanna" or the like but eh. it works and if you don't like it just reroll the name.

One of the reasons I wanted forts is to defend passes that are already in the world (if you can make mountains you can make passes btw). To make forts/castles better to hold territory we could have a field of influence (line Empire:TW but for forts not units) where you can't pass through without engaging the fort. And one thing I did in Civ4 was to have archer cavalry in the forts and send them out to shoot a bit then retreat in before they died. But without supply lines, fort

Gothic 3 has a few updates and some mods that remove the clunkiness of combat and several of the more annoying bugs. Definitely patch and download an unofficial update or mod if you want to play it. I have to say I've spent much more time in Oblivion than in Gothic but it's not a bad game, just a bit frustrating at times. Dragon Age was fine, but the complete lack of random took out the replayablity for me. If you have irl friends(who play computer) I would recommend diablo 2
