Couple not-so-simple solutions: 1) Kill all suspicious processes. Then run a spyware remover. 2) Boot from another OS and run a spyware remover from there. This prevents the thing from running at startup, since you're booting from a different OS. Ofcourse you need to have a multi-boot setup for this. 3) Remove the disk and install it as a secondary drive in another machine. Then run the spyware remover.

The IDE-cables. They tend to use shortened versions of the same cables used in computers, but it takes quite a bit of force to disconnect those, so the risk of tearing them apart is bigger than what is comfortable to me.
FireWire is faster, less cpu intensive, USB is more practical. "Learn to use your computer", as true as it may be, is not a really satisfactory answer. Is the computer there to serve you or are yout he slave of the machine? Unbelievable what people will put up with when it comes to computers. Imagine you driving your car and all of a sudden your brakes would give you blue screen.
Cell phone have an OS, so they are hackable. The hard part is getting into it. Probably requires special hardware.
If that means you're going to put things up first and then take down the works of those that mind, you're doing it the wrong way around.

I somehow prefer the more elaborate pranks. Something like "StarDock releases ObjectDock for OSX". Something that might seem convincing, until your brain kicks in and enlightens you on at the unlikeliness of it all.
Theoretically, a blog site will suck up way less bandwidth than a skin site, since the latter is basically a download site, while the former is primarily information. No-one visits a blog to leech. So that bit is cheaper. Aside from that, it's a great portfolio for gorman et al. If someone asks what they've done so far, they can point at ModBlog. So it's also an investment.

Trouble with becoming accustomed with one OS is exactly just that, you become accustomed with its behavior, quirks and know how to do what you want to do with it and the apps available and solve any problem that might pop up. If you switch OS, you lose all that. That said, I've been playing admin over our Linux file server at work for the past few months, so I'm slowly getting familiar with its intricacies, apparent counter-intuitiven

Whether or not I get a PSP or a DS depends on the games that are available for it. I care little about multimedia capabilities. To me, it's primarily a console. In general, I dislike playing on small screens, so those games'd better be good if I am to get one.
