The combat actually playing out will still end up undervaluing some units. The problem with leadership beiing the way it is will be that either everyone spams it, or no one spams it. It's a flawed concept unless they come up with something I can't think of. TC and MP will NOT go well together- that's a guarantee. I'm doubtful even Stardock can do this. Maybe if battles were real-time, and worked like Kohan or may

One idea: Instead of leadership increasing your battle capacity, have leadership increase the size of the army you can command? This is one way you can put stack limits in the game as well. All armies should require a hero leading, but armies should have multiple heroes (though heros can count as multiple units- depends on their insubordination score- which is something else I'd add) Some things like dragons, heros, paladins- may be obnoxious and count as more then
The one thing I want for the Fallen: Horns. magnificant horns. I don't see them as stupid, just arrogant and reactionary.
Retail/production costs add a lot more.
I don't know if you're allowed to say this, but can we get an estimate of how much more? I tend to prefer buying DD, as I think it supports the industry more. I pretty much won't by a PC game in a store anymore, and that would only change if I had internet caps forced on me.
The impression I got is only four types of units: Human, fallen, beasts, dragons. Maybe a construct as a fifth class for undead and magical constructs like golems and elementals. One question is how many classes will the heroes have? Hopefully it's like AoW2 in that regard- I liked the hero system in that.
BTW I think you need Steam for that demo.
But small elites should have downsides as well. Assassins, mass numbers. With command, i am thinking something like the Kohan regiment system, but much more complicated.
One way of doing stack of doom limits. Require stacks to have generals, which have command ratings. Generals cost gold, and you can only have so many talented generals. High-end units can take multiple unit slots. Generals have special abilities which go to their troops. Generals can also become insubordinate and rebel.

The best counter to stacks of doom is quick armies doing economic damage behind it. The thing is though, economic damage doesn't matter when they already have a stack of doom.
It can if the troops desert/rebel due to lack of pay.

Yeah I know. I know I'll just get other stuff on Impulse in the future instead. ^_^ BTW if Capcom is working with Stardock- try to get Street Fighter IV PC on Impulse hard.
It wasn't. People complained heavily on the 360 that the game wasn't worth $15, though it was the first $15 game. I don't want to come off as rude, but I really don't think this game will sell well on Impulse at $20. People were plenty willing to pay $15 for the Street Fighter II remix though. (hint hint to Stardock)
That should almost be a spell. A spell that makes an army look like it belongs to somebody else. So you can run guys in and attack people, and they think its a different player.
FYI I am a Spy? Yeah, I can see the need for not deliberately confusing people. The main reason I wanted this was pure cheesecake.
Oh? I can see your point, I was thinking more total volume of sales, as the other two have a lot more selection on the games side, and I think Gamersgate has a stronger Euro presence. I'm glad if I'm wrong.
You guys really do need better organization for these forums. I saw this on Elemental Forums, so assumed it was about Elemental. The good thing is, that's the biggest thing I can nitpick Stardock about.
You don't get a serial for this until the beta is out, if that's what you're asking.
One idea for research- might be too computational though For research points, you roll a 1d100. Let's say you have 200 research points You are researching fireball You roll a 58 You get 116 points towards Fireball. The other 84 points goes towards various spells you haven't researched, that are related- either the subsequent spell, or another spell that has a prerequisite, or other fire spells at random. Cre
One possibility- Capcom is making a PC version of SF4. Crazy idea: offer to take the project, invest in GGPO ( a technology used in emulation that is quite superb, and is for sale/license fairly cheaply), integrate that into SF4, then put the game on Impulse. The hardcores with comps powerful enough will lap it up, and you'll make a good profit. Another possibility is to try working with SNK and bring KOF games to the PC (particularly these t
Quoting dj-LiTh, reply 7Personally i much rather just have Steam than Steam AND Impulse. Both do the same thing in a great way. Stardock could make just as much money off of steam and support their games even better than trying to support their games and impulse. Game. Set. Match.
Completely, utterly, and totally wrong. Valve would get a cut of the profits. With Impulse, Stardock gets all of the pro
One bizarre suggestion, try to get Japanese dojin games on board with Impulse. It might just work. Think companies like Cave or the people behind Melty Blood. Also wouldn't mind seeing Kohan: Ahriman's Gift on Impulse
Here's my honest opinion on the subject- which may not sit well here. I think that in order to compete with Steam, Valve is going to have to massively screw up, or Stardock is going to have to buy or merge with of the other Steam competitors (Gamersgate is the most likely and sensible acquisition here) That said, I'm not worried about Impulse going away- at a bare minimum, it will be profitable for Stardock to do with Stardock Games and Desktop apps, therefore it should remain p
Right click works for me still (on Windows 7)
It's only free until the end of August. How much are you planning to charge for this? It's kinda neat, but not something I'd pay more then $5 for. Sorry if that sounds insulting, I have no idea what you plan to charge, or what DE stuff costs. This is neat though.
My fear is that the game ends up broken like Dominions, or just too much stuff to balance. Second biggest fear- no horns on the Fallen.
Actually I found out they are NOT talking about Society, this is a new project. That said, I had a thought. Stardock doing a PC variation on Disgaea or even Culdcept Saga. That would be mega awesome.
