Who says the humans won't be evil, or some good Fallen. That said, I just hope the Fallen have horns. I kinda imagined them like Urusei Yatsura-style Oni.

If Stardock got a contract with Capcom, SNK, and Sega to put their fighting games on Impulse, I'd never even buy a console again. Right now that's the only reason I own one. It's stuff like this which is why I always crack my games after buying, except for Impulse/some Gamersgate stuff

I really would like to see Brad's feelings on this. It won't change my mind, but I'd be interested. The main hypocritical reason it won't change my mind as I'd get taxed on it.

I REALLY like this idea, but people would have to know about it first. This would also allow me to play the game on my fancy-ass laptop at home, while having it playable fully at work. If Elemental draws a lot of new people in, they're going to know about the early idea, and view it as "the game is out now", and they might end up disappointed. The gameplay is what needs to be focused on first, since a LOT can go wrong with that, due to some of the ambitious

This shouldn't be a worry for Stardock, as I doubt the Stardock demographic would be crushed by the game not being carried at Gamestop, they'd just go get it through Impulse, and the people new who would be interested in it generally don't buy a lot of used console games. I do think the future is Direct Download services, but we're 5-10 years off from that being more then a small percentage (10-20%) of game sales due to poor American internet. What could rea

The other question is- will the AI handle it? Any feature needs to be properly useable by the AI intelligently.

Given how buggy medieval II andtheir anti-Stardock approach to their own mess, this is a guaranteed no sale for me.

Now you just need to convince Shrapnelgames to publish their catalogue via Impulse as well if you guys have ideas for more companies, it's cool to tell us at Stardock about it, but you should also go to the forums of those companies and let them know about Impulse there too. I can't hurt. The more we spread the word

Because if he waits until it comes to Impulse (assuming it does), then it would only further encourage Paradox to put all their games up on Impulse. No doubt. Sadly I have more than a dozen titles on GG. All the P

Well, I understand the reasoning, but I'll add that to my wishlist for Impulse. (I won't expect to get that one though)

[quote who="landisaurus" reply="3" id="2011018"] My concern is from the gameplay side of things- that Stardock may put in so much content , that gameplay becomes warped and skewed. as pigeonx2 says, Stardock already addressed this. They said they will be keeping it simple in terms of what comes with the game (only human races and basic unit designs, for example) but allowing for infinate expansion by us the players. So the content will only be as di

If you share borders with a kingdom with a tech you don't have, you have a higher chance to get it per turn. Specific, "hard to get" techs might open up "easier to get" techs, which might lead to finding a lot of techs in a small period of

Screenshots make it look like there are two types of research: non-magical research and magical research, which are likely independent of each other. This is not a bad idea.

Reply to What is DRM? in PC Gaming

Which is, in itself a form of DRM. Calling it DRM is not the same as calling it bad. While DRM is NEVER good for consumers, Stardock's DRM isn't that bad for consumers at all, and I can only see one reason why someone would have a problem with it- and it's a situation that really doesn't exist anymore (the used PC game market is gone, and Stardock has a vested interest in keeping their games out of the used PC game market) I don't mind not b
