Both myself and slainangel on IRC have noticed this. It works, but it feels like it's really sluggish. In my case it was horseback units. I'd call this a moderate technical issue.

My guess is that Stardock typoed something, or some other legitimate mistake on that. Taking it down, if intentional, is too stupid for it to have been done intentionally, especially after a release of a game that has been fairly criticized for being rushed. This game did need 3 more months of beta, maybe more. It's enjoyable in its present state, but releasing it early to me, has hurt SD's reputation among general fans (not us so much). The criticism Stardock is takin
I'd like to see faster mana regen be done through additions not tweaks (fix the creatures bug, it's major) Have item shops sell rings of mana regen, allow them to be made with enchantment crystals or midnight stones, make it an enchant mages can cast on themselves with a lvl 5 spell, etc. Having a system change would likely OP magic early game (where it's all powerful as is), magic loses power as the game goes along, which I'm ok with, but would l
I think attack is fine, and I think magic damage will be fine once the spells come in. the problem is defense. High dex and high armor are shoehorned together. Borrowing f rom a MUD I play and an RPG system we used to use in school, I'd suggest the following rework. You have two defenses. Passive defense- means you dodge/parry/avoid blow completely. This is based off DEX mostly, with some modifications from
On the AI, I wish there was a difficultly level where human and AI are identical. Thought challenging was it, but AI starts with 2* starting gold. Normal would be, but AI has lower AI settings there.
I'd say if anything for me, performance in tactical battles is slightly worse now then 1.01. Was having some sluggishness that I didn't have before. Still tolerable though. Otherwise more improvement. Keep up the good work. Managed to play 1.5 hours without crashing.
Ah. That would have worked, if I had DL'ed 1.05 already. I passed out last night before you got the patch out. I saw the 1.05 and thought I hadn't gotten the latest patch. This also explains why I was having DL troubles getting 1.05 this morning, you were updating when i was trying to get it. I didn't expect you to stay up all night. Thanks for giving up your sleep again, but you gotta get some eventually.
Ok, you have to hover over the bar at the bottom. Not exactly intuitive. I know you got the image at the top, but I didn't make the connection. Maybe red text that at the top so people aren't left wondering like I was. ^_^ Hopefully this works and the rest of your team can mill around in PJs and watch the Price is right and soaps today.
hoffix isn't showing up for me right now.
I think the releasing early to betas is helping the game a lot. You just gotta hope this build doesn't have anything gamebreaking it- for I'm sure the team needs a day or five off to recharge their batteries.
If you run the game, or open Impulse- it will prompt you when there's an update. I wouldn't expect one until LATE tonight at the earlier. Maybe try tomorrow morning. I just hope Stardock doesn't have to pay night differential.
I would like to see one day an option or mod for all-female units.
One thing- when the game improves, get the word out that the patches massively improve the game- that might turn pirates into customers. The downside to this piracy is people might get a bad impression of the game a few months down the road, unless someone puts out a patched torrent (which is possible but most pirates don't bother with that)
I've seen others complain about the campaign on other sites. One even said that his opinion went from negative to positive from stopping the campaign and starting to play the sandbox. So, there's likely some room for improvement here.
Impulse Reactor Mod thing looks neat. Overall, I'm liking what I see from Impulse Reactor so far- in terms of smoothness it seems to already be better then Steamworks.
This game is about where GCII 1.00 is, maybe a little better. GCII through the patches and expansiions improved tremendously. GCII six months after release was nothing like GCII on day 1. I was there for both. The thing with Stardock is they tend to approach games not from a gamemakers perspective, but from an application-makers perspective, which I feel is a huge help down the line, but sometimes hurts day 1. &n
It's Kotaku, it's not meant to have an opinion of any value.
How do you equip on your sovereign now? I got a Sword of the Sovereign, but didn't see any way to equip it.
Quoting charon2112, reply 5Brad, you mention a 64 bit version, is that a separate game that I need to wait to buy, or is it an option when installing? what is dat? 64-bit version will be free and released as a future update. It'll be invisible to those who already have 64-bit Windows.
Why would the 64-bit version be invisible to those that can use it?
7am here, I'm up, but it's work related. I'm just gonna hope it will be there when I wake up (I tend to get to sleep about 8:30am)
Quoting StevenAus, reply 2Okay then, same as first post except replace "in the Day 0 release" with "as soon as possible after release". Best regards, Steven. It's going to be high on our list to release no matter what because we want to have tactical battles available as a stand alone game mode because THAT is fun for a large percentage of people. The only feature in MP that is likely to be "gimped" for a
Nope. Just hoping it's before 5pm or so, or failing that 8:30pm so I can have it ready for work.
This time we were prepared for that possibility. Hence having an update ready to go and having the MP servers DOWN prior to general availability.
How about a Sunday afternoon release? This way you don't have to keep the IT folks up , and it's not like it's football season yet. I'm definitely taking the laptop home tonight now. IF you do a evening release, about what time would it be?
I think the problem is ultimately, Brad assumed that the main thrust of Elemental's MP would be competitive, when really it's just as likely to be casual or cooperative. Too much Starcraft 2 perhaps? The other thing I worry about for the MP folks (I'm not one of them) as that the gimped MP will get shunned, leading SD to say "see, people don't play MP" and therefore not make it work. That said AOW2 MP was horribly busted, thoug
For comparison, how was GC2 profitability at launch- about even , still heavily in the red? $3 mil for EWOM , I thought your budget was half that to be honest. Does that include projected future support or just what has been spent?
