I had that happen too. (webbed an archer). There is literally hard code in there now to stop that and it still happened. (pulling hair).
First off, I really appriciate that Stardock has felt it necessary to share it's private successes and failures with the public. I have a few things that I took note of: I find it interesting how Brad has acclaimed 90% of their sales to steam. Obviously, if you release products that are steam-only, than the % will be weighted in that direction. Only way that stat would be useful is if the products all had multiple venue
gah I need a shower from all the leg humping. So the fanbio spin is Stardock just didnt answer for a month because of -me-? Because I have no manners? I dont know why they went quiet but it had nothing to do with me. I'm not that important. Other people were asking too. They got ignored to but dont have the social heuvos to be public about it. I certainly hope they didnt leave their customers flapping in the wind just to spite one cri

I'm not in any sort of exile. I was at Disney World. Just got back. We released FE 1.3 in February and 1.4 is expected to come out probably this month. 1.5 after LH comes out. Same as we've done things on all our games going all the way back to GalCiv I.

My 2 cents (to recap) is this: 1. Getting the AI to summon things effectively is a lot of work. 2. The current balance doesn't make summoning that effective a strategy. Therefore, I'd like to see summoning boosted substantially. In tactical battle, I think you should be able to summon multiples. You could have each additional summon cost more mana than the last. I think that alone would make things funner. But I also think that the LEVEL o

I just checked in the first major LH-specific AI update. Players should notice a pretty significant improvement. I fixed a pretty obnoxious bug with regards to city leveling which was absolutely crippling the AI mid to late game (the effect was that city level choosing ended up largely random). But overall, a few thousand lines of code were either written or modified with LH in mind. It'll be interesting to see the effect others see. What I was able to

I don't remember how summoning was done in MOM. How did they do it? Since I'm working on the AI handling summons better, I would like to see summons be made more worthwhile.
Strategic Problem1: AI city not constructing
Drives me crazy. The question is, WHY wouldn't it be constructing something? I can't think of any reason that would happen. I've got a lot of AI tweaks going into the next beta. It's amazing how...stupid the AI can get due to some oversight in a seemingly unrelated area.

The map pack is going to get made available for LH players soon. We just are waiting until it goes 1.0 since some people will think we're "selling" DLC before the game's even done (they won't understand it's just DLC carried over from FE).

Thanks, Troj! Really appreciate it. We're getting a LOT of help too. Like the way Civilization V looks? A lot of that is due to Dorian Newcomb formerly of Firaxis. He's come on board to help us on the visuals. Soren Johnson (Civilization IV lead) has been helping on UI (there's a ton of UI improvements coming in). Kael and I, of course, have a long list of improvements we're working on. Jon Shafer (Civilization V) has been helping as wel
Is there a way to find out how people play and counter those strategies and build them in? Maybe some sort of recorder. Or statistics on how folks win, or particular builds they use?
GalCiv had one. But I don't have anything like that for FE. I am groveling with Kael to do this using Steamworks.

I think it'll be worth the coding effort to give the AI the concept of a "strike force" which would be an initial declare-war force. It's probably 60+ engineering hours but given we're not being released until May, I think there's time.

That's great! Eventually we'll go 64-bit only and be able to go really nuts! Glad you're liking them.
