Come a long way since Elemental

I love the latest version, Legendary Heroes.  It's come a long way since elemental, and I couldn't be happier.  There are only a few suggestions I'd like to make.

Random maps are still pretty bad at balancing the resources and such.  Please make the generation better, and allow for balanced resource and quest placement.

Expansion - Enemies still expand at a god awful rate.  Even on easiest setting, it's like after a certain point, the leash comes off and the entire map is covered.  Please fix this.

Chasms - I love the look and feel, but aside from that they serve no real purpose,  I'd love to see you able to cast spells that fill these voids with land, and based on the type let it spawn random theme resources.  For Instance, say you fill a chasm with earth magic, it has the chance to spawn an earth crystal / mine or other earth themed resource.  Where as say you do water you get a water crystal ect..

Otherwise, I just want to say Kudos on the job well done.  It's come a long way since the original, and this one is by far the most playable.  I can't wait to see you actually start to make more returns on the game, and hopefully, lead to improved versions down the road.  I'd really love to see this game compete with AoW3.

As I understand it, random maps are stamp based, so we just need some modders to develop a major stamp mod project and go nuts.

I find that the problem isn't with expansion; it's with the relatively few diplomacy options that you have available in dealing with the AI once they've expanded. Of the diplomacy that is currently there, it is done quite well. However, there should be more types of treaties and pacts:

  • Stay Out Treaty "Closed Borders": Impose a travel embargo on a faction such that if they enter into your territory without permission, they are declaring war on you.
  • Quest Pact: Giving permission to roam through a factions territory in order to perform quests. (this may already be covered in an Open Borders pact) Obviously any attempt of aggression would bump your units outside of their territory before war was declared.
  • The ability to trade, demand, and gift cities and outposts.
  • Defensive Pacts (I can't recall atm if this exists): If you or your ally is attacked, the other auto declares war to help out.
  • Offensive Pacts: Same as above, but you or your ally can be the aggressor.

Love the chasms. Hope they add other items like that into the game to give even more flavor.

Regarding the maps: AMEN.  This is something I'm experimenting with to see what we can do. Thanks for the suggestions and feedback!
