Very interesting see the thoughts on this. There are no Elemental related screenshots there (i.e. no sequels / derivatives / DLC) in there (would be too easy to spot I figured). The other hint is that those projects started before FE was released.

I wouldn't say it's a "new" game as opposed to simply the next in the series. Sequels and expansions are pretty common. If LH is successful we hope to make another game in the dowries in the future.
Thanks! We love you guys! (and gals!)
Thanks! We are grateful to have people like you playing our games.
Where is that first picture from? I haven't seen it around.
It's actually painted by Leo (who did most of our paintings) and was designed to show a battle during the time of the Magi.
While LH has a much better AI than FE. One of the things I'm lookiing forward to is being able to do post-release AI updating. It's really hard to do a lot of AI tweaking when the game itself is still changing so much. Some of the AI improvements in LH are going to need to be back ported to FE as well as the strategic AI in LH is ridiculously better. But as you can see in this post, there's a lot of room for continued enhancement.
Great post! The question really is whether coding time should be used to balance this or whether players should play at higher levels and in turn give the AI bonuses that address this. I know what the forum response to the choices presented here would be. But it would be very very time consuming to address some of the things you mention. Now, with the other parts, like the cities with no production part, along with many of the other areas you mention, those are things

I guess we do kind of.
Not sure. Let's see:
Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father
I didn't like the Gunslinger series.
1. Significant improvements in the A.I. especially on the part of leveling up heroes and sovereigns. Does LH have that?
I love you. Seriously. It's people like you that make writing AI worth it. You can't put AI in a screenshot. You can't demo it easily. So seeing it at #1 on your list makes my day. Others can answer the question on this more than I but I think I can objectively say th
The mistakes you point out the AI makes there might make a difference in a challenging game. But in a hard or later, that wouln't be the difference. There must be fundamental differences in play style going on. I mean, after all, if what you say were the key thing, I could just bonus the AI with more resources and call it a day. Clearly, there's something else going on. I can't beat the AI behind hard. I know from the stats that very very few people can
Re AI, if people are beating the AI beyond challenging, then we need them to explain what basic things they're doing to beat it. They're not beating the AI because spiders sometimes web an already webbed unit. There is some more fundamental strategy being employed that I'm not aware of. I can only make the AI play an optimal version of how I play the game. I have no doubt there are plenty of people who are better at the game than I am. Therefore, I need
Planetary Annihilation isn't going to solve this "problem" because it is so fundamental to what an RTS is about. And by the way, if you visit the forums you'll find the same idea - PA won't be micro intensive, you don't have to worry about mechanics as much as you would in sc2. Frankly, I find the whole argument a bit delusional. At the competitive level, micro will always be a factor because it is a real time st
Quoting Frogboy, reply 31 Now, if you want to complain about something in LH, complain about the diplomacy system. That is the single biggest disappointment in the Elemental games IMO. Yes, it is. Any chance you can fix it? I know you have the ability because I own GalCiv 2. It just boggles my mind how a LH faction can go from neutral to hating my faction, to liking my faction within a 15 turn
Do you already have ideas floating around for the possibility of another Elemental entry? I can keep a secret
It all depends on how well this game does. As long as people want us making fantasy strategy games, we aim to provide them. :) So far, we've made Elemental: War of Magic - which was a commercial success but a critical failure. Then we made Elemental: Fallen Enchantress which did well and was generally well liked
Indeed. Frogboy put it much better than I did. Also, I do agree about the Diplomacy. Frogboy, I hope you guys are planning on making it better? Or is that not happening?
The problem I see with diplomacy is not easily fixable. Otherwise it would have already been. :) I've asked Soren to think of things we can do on it. Apparently, Civilization IV had some sort of diplomacy system.
What kind of experience do you need to be a developer?
Depends on the position. You need to be pretty proficient in C++.
I'll try to be succinct here. I have come to the realization that there were a lot of people who liked War of Magic. And I agree that the biggest hit against the original release of Elemental was that it was unstable at launch. There are a number of reasons why that happened which I won't go into here. However, you have to judge each game on its own merits. War of Magic was a big game with a lot of moving parts. But a lot of those parts just didn'
Frog, I thought the original plan was to release Fallen Enchantress and two expansions, one provided free to early adopters and the next being a paid-by-all expansion. Has that changed? I've been pretty vocal about my love for this version of Elemental. It's really good. I'd hate to think there won't be more.... Either way, you've won me back. <
I have to agree with the original poster. This game is a solid 8 as it stands now. Certainly lightyears ahead of that 4X imposter StarDrive that was released a while ago. There is nothing in LH that is a game breaker for me. Of course there are areas that I would like to see improved like diplomacy and such but nothing game ending. Congrats to Stardock and team.
I haven&#
We're reading through this. There's a lot of interesting ideas here. One suggestion that Chris Taylor once told me (regarding giving feedback): Try to eliminate the word "need" from suggestion posts. That said, there's a lot of good stuff here.
