Greetings! For those of you not familiar with our Elemental game universe here it is in brief: Elemental is a fantasy world made up of many different civilizations vying for control the world. There is a great deal of history and lore to tap into and we decided to begin making games in this world back with 2010s release of War of Magic. Unfortunately, when it came out, it was pretty buggy and got some negative reviews. We fixed the bugs but the game itself was still pret

I'll write more on the particular challenges on LH AI but I will say that if people call the AI in 1.5 "broken" that I think it'll be time to throw in the towel on lh AI. I'll know then that some people have unrealistic expectations.
I think if he turns off outlining it will help. 1.5 is scheduled to have some new performance tweaks.
2 of the 3 founders are professional AI developers and someone in here thinks we won't put effort into that?
We'll check it out. I wonder, how many of you are using Windows 8.1?
@cardinal, it's not remotely that simple unfortunately. The movement system is asynchronous to the movement command system. The AI and the unit objects post (as opposed to send) their messages to move and the move takes place async. The plus side is that it dramatically reduces the turn-times (see Civ V for the other way) but on the down side moves can't be course corrected (which they can be in Civ V).
But I thought we would be getting Standalone Episode Like Fallen Enchantress: Expansion 2 :/
We're likely to stick with the Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes line for quite awhile. The current system is a bit of a win-win. We get paid to make new DLC and players get interesting updates. I'm working on a pretty significant diplomacy update for v1.5 and that's been justified by the
So I've continued to look into why it seems like the AI is able to get around monsters easier than humans. I know what the code says but I also know what I see with my own eyes. I've finally reached a conclusion as to why it seems like AI players don't get attacked by monsters as much -- it's all in the movement. Elemental games are based on a simulatenous move system. This is a hold-over from War of Magic which was a multiplayer game.
I'm working on the diplomacy features for 1.5 right now. It's getting the biggest revamp since the original release of Fallen Enchantress. There are really two broad problems with it: 1. There are a lot of different variables that determine relations but not a lot of controllers (i.e. they're either on or off without any conditions other than true or false). This is being changed so that the relation modifiers start to show up based on your existing rel
I honestly think the issue with the elemental name is in your head (I'm not trying to be mean or snarky here). The ghost of it''s release is still haunting your dreams, when everyone else has moved on. But we are all saying pretty positive things so far, and you keep pushing back. So what was the point of you post? Are you looking for a solution? Sympathy? Justifying in your head why it's not s
Just wanted to post a thanks! Also, if any of you have some games on HUGE maps that are pretty late that you'd like me to look at, post a link to a save here.
Sorry you're not liking what we have planned for 1.4. Different things take different amounts of time to do. But the release schedule for updates is pretty hard baked (we have to schedule QA time). I wanted 1.4 to be mainly about UI for instance. But the resources for doing that aren't entirely free so there's a delay on some of that. I have my own rather endless laundry list myself.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 785Even in this thread, it's been asked several times: How much? What % impact are we having? The IPCC report covers this. I've already posted about it as well a few pages back.
So for the record: Give us a %. How much?
I noticed that no one has really addressed what was brought up yesterday which is: Ok, let's assume we all agree, 100% that AGW is happening and it's a serious problem we should do something about. Ok. What then? Solar doesn't work very well at night. Kantok gave a very thorough yet straight forward walk through. Unless we begin immediate conversion to nuclear, there's really nothing that can be done in the next 50 or so years. Even if we all copied Germa
Read the comments on any thread where someone is being condemned for allegedly saying something mean and someone will say something to the effect "I hope he died" or "I hope his children get raped" or something even worse.

Space games seem passe. Stardock is moving towards free-to-play social networking games. You want to rush build? Fine. $1.
First off, I'd like to say that after Derek follows through with his promise to remove the bunny slippers as a random drop and make them sovereign-selection only, I WILL BUY THE LOOT DLC. In the future, please make the gag items optional. Second, here are some ideas for DLC that I would purchase in a heartbeat: 1) More Mounts - I love Bonesplitter and if you made a mounts DLC, i.e. panthers, black fire horses, pegasi (plural pegasus?), lizards, rhinos,
Really. Nice on a family site.
Before we get into it, all Stardock sites are PG-13. We're not targeting kids. And this is a TV show regarding a guy who makes meth. Back on topic: My wife and I have been binge watching the show. We're only up to mid season 4 right now but it's very addicting. That said, I wouldn't have been happy having to wait weeks or months between some of these episode
We love you guys! Also for anyone interested in what we're doing... Spoilers... Ok, it's not very interesting but we're moving our server arrays to SSDs. The old servers are like circa 2006 hard drives.
First off, we should all be ashamed that we do not already have a Breaking Bad thread. There. I've said it. We are all bad people. Terrible people really. What kind of forum doesn't have a Breaking Bad forum? I'll tell you what kind: One that has something to hide. A forum that feels like the subject matter hits too close to home. But the time of hiding is over. The final season is here. Discuss. Spoilers.
The time preordained from the beginning of things has arrived. It is time to do some UI cleanup. So in this thread, please feel free to make reasonable requests on changes/enhancements to the UI. These should be things that fix problems that really really bug you. Thanks!
I think some users are not understanding how monster lairs work, particularly in 1.3. I'm going to give you some inside talk on how the monsters work. SPOILER WARNING... <p
Thanks for doing this post. I'm going to keep an eye on it and pass notes to Derek. 1.4 is pretty far along in preproduction so much of this wouldn't fall until 1.5 I'd suspect which is some months away.
They're in XML, so if you don't like them, you can just turn them off.
