I have played some beta and its the best game I have supported on Kickstarter so far (I am above 20, but many are not finished). I am an old Battle Isle fan and this is the best remake for quite a while. Very true to the "feeling" of the original.

Because, it means either: he needs new glasses, or he needs to spruce up on his reading ability.

Thanks for trying to speak for me but that wasn't it.  I was hoping it might something about a classic RPG maker and it wasn't so I was dissapointed.

What do you think of it in its current state? My understanding is that is in beta (0.5x at the moment) and the release date is in early November. Does it seem playable at this point? Playable by November? Or is this a pipe dream for the devs (a stable release candidate)?

The learning curve was a bit steeper than expected because certain game mechanics were not obvious to me initially. I am playing the campaign and on to my third scenario and I am enjoying the gameplay (approx 5-6 hours of play). The story is reasonably well done and there is a bit of to-and-thro within a single scenario which keeps it exciting. It brings the  "perfect general" game play to modern computers.

 

For the price it has been well worth it so far and I am looking forward to future development.

Thank you for the reply. It's kind of hard to get much info on the game. The forums talk about game breaking crashes in the beta. I love supporting indie devs, but I just want to get a professional product when I do.

 

I think I will wait for a couple weeks before taking the plunge.

I have played the first level of the campaign now (and I have tested beta before). This game rocks!! Has been totally stable for me.

That's the thing about PC games - they can be totally stable for some people and totally crash-ridden for others.  There are just so many configurations of hardware components, operating systems etc. that it's almost impossible to get the game working on every system, and you are reliant a lot on the drivers the hardware and software manufacturers provide too.  Some driver releases or combinations actually cause crashes.
