I think its great that you are taking the time to give feedback to the devs, but alot of beta testers make this mistake. You are NOT entitled to a response for Stardock for any posts you make, and you certainly shouldn't presume to call them out and say Stardock look at me! Generally they are polite and just ignore this in most cases but its rude to act so entitled.
I understand why you may be frustrated. Many of the longer form posts that I make often get read by only a few users and get buried fairly rapidly with little participation around them. I think the answer is to simply spend less energy on a game thats ultimately out of your hands or shrug your shoulders and simply hope that they are paying attention.
True enough. It's their game and they can develop it however they deem best. That's never been the issue. I never once presumed entitlement of response to any of my specific comments I have made and I find it quite offensive that you would accuse me of such. If you've read any of my previous posts in regards to the development, testing, or gameplays of FE, you would know that I only want what's (and I'll agree that my opinion is not without bias) best for the upcoming release of the game and the greatest of success to the developers.
However, by not responding to these such posts that, so obviously, a lot of time and effort have been put in the making, they, whether they mean to or not, alienate parts of the beta testing community. Would it not be common courtesy to simply post "Read it. Thanks for the thoughts."?? Derek Paxton has appriciately done so on many such threads. As posted in my original post, I had hoped for at least that much.
In the end, you are correct it can be frustrating to beta testers when their hopeful comments are ignored. You are also correct that the development of the game is ultimately out of the beta testers hands. Finally, you are also correct that this type of behaviour does encourage beta testers to spend less time and energy beta testing.
We are in agreement.
