...and result screen soft locked the game.
More specifically: I was bashing next turn and heading back to Main menu to load my save in again when a combat dialog popped up. Pushed Auto Resolve, Loaded the save, and the result screen stucked overlapping the loading screen.
The background is active, but the report is not interactive and loading was halted.

Please be aware that this is my first 'link', tell me if it's not ok, I've backed it up.
Repro should look like this:
1. Load up a save (I used a large world with several other factions.)
2. Hit 'Turn'
3. Immediately after a Turn, hit Esc, Main menu. If a combat would occur, it should still give notification even if you are in the Main Menu
4. Hit Auto resolve
5. Load your save while you have time
Observe that the result screen will lock the game.
Note1: My system is rather outdated, it's not too hard to stress it.
Note2: I'm not sure if the last steps of the repro is OK, I just done stuff too fast without actually expecting this issue.
(Assumption: The root of this problem should be that the game allows the combat pop-up to appear while the user is actually is not in the game.)
(Wish: A button combination to force-dump the game to at least have a call stack.)
