Turning off auto_resolve in tactical combat

Okay I searched the forum and either I'm having bad luck or using the wrong keywords, but how do you turn off the auto_resolve for tactical battles? I searched the stickies yet and dev journals yet no luck.

try setting the threshold for battles to 1

Thanks I moved the setting to 1, but when the battles start the screen has no battlefield map... I have no choice except choosing auto_resolve.

what is your video card? and do you have the advanced lighting on?

I get the same on my low geforce (7600gs) in the beta4's, but on my 8800gt & ati's allwork properly.

Yes, 7600GS Nvidia... seems the problem is only with my sovereign. I will try with advanced lighting turned off.

UPDATE:

Problem occurs even with advanced lighting turned off, but performance is 10times better with advanced lighting turned off. Problem can occur for any type of unit in battle... unknown what causes the issue. When the issue occurs I am unable to see the battlefield or any units, then afterwards the system/game crawls so I have to exit and reload.

looks like an incompatability with the 7600gs, which would be a reason to upgrade to either an 8 series or a geforce 220 for both of us, BUT it might only be a beta issue. I will test when I hae a release version.
