After playing around with varies options in the Elemental video menu I've found a way to stop my BSOD & reboot crashes. Where before I had a hard crash now the game only crashes to the desktop, a noted improvement.

As far as I can tell I only get a BSOD & reboot crash when I have Elemental running in fullscreen mode. This is even true if I leave the game at my native resolution 1680X1050 (Fullscreen). Obviously I'm not an expert programmer but If I had to make a novice guess I would say there is something wrong with the fullscreen option. So if anyone else is having this problem I would recommend unchecking the fullscreen option in the video section of the menu.You will still CTD but hell that is better then rebooting every 5 turns.
