I just wanted to provide some feedback on the custom info cards that are created when we design a unit. I'm sure that SD may already have plenty of plans on how it could be improved but the biggest issue to me is the contrast between the character in the for front and the background.
It does not seem to matter which background one chooses, the character kinda blends into it without anything to help him stand out. Perhaps this is because the backgrounds are really beautiful and complex, and it blends a bit with the clothes of the character for most of them.
It seems to me that perhaps the outline on the character should be thinker, so his shape should really be defined in some way. I guess we also could make the backgrounds somehow softened so the soldier better pops-off the screen.
I was looking at some of the inspiring art that was provided by boogiebac... and I Guess in most of it the character stands out by being the only not-happening parts of the picture. like in these pictures, the backgrounds are really elaborate (I guess like some of the backgrounds in elemental) but the characters have a lot of plain bare skin or solid-color clothes, so they can be seen clearly. In elemental, they have fancy suits of armor or adventure gear, which makes both the unit noisy, and the background noisy. So its solid noisy (is it just too late and I'm babbling?) (face and arms stand out I suppose, but its a little hard to tell whats going on since the body isn't clear in most of the poses)
in the case of the couple of not-noisy backgrounds, then it just blends too much. Perhaps what needs to happen is somehow extend the lighting system into the pose generator you use for the cards, so that way depth on the character is better defined and therefor would stand out from the background by contrast.
