Well huh, I've mentioned it because it's a really annoying crash [Like I've said I cannot complete a game at all because of it], which wasn't fixed in the last 2 patches.
Welcome to game testing. You have to remember that priorities are very different in a test stage, especially a very early test like Elemental. While the issue is major to you, because you can't play, that doesn't mean it is major to them yet. They've got a lot of things to be done. Their concern at this point isn't making it work well for everyone, it is developing a good game. So while it sucks for you that you can't play, they may have a lot more important concerns at this time.
Part of it is that this isn't want many companies would call a Beta, many would call it an Alpha. The game is not feature complete yet. So the majority of development time is spent on working on features, getting the game to the point that it should be. Once that is done you enter the stage that is normally called Beta, where the game is complete feature wise (more or less, there's always tweaks) but it is time to squash the bugs.
Just keep that in mind. When the game is getting near done then yes, they'd better make sure to get rid of all the crash bugs. However for now? Not the main goal. If some testers have problems, oh well that's life.
Frogboy really wasn't kidding about the "This won't be a lot of fun," thing. This is not your typical MMO beta where everything is pretty much done and they just want to see how it works on various systems. This is a game in very early development, and as such one with a lot of problems and changes.
