Let me start of by saying I didn't know where to post this, so if this is the wrong section I apologize in advance.
So Elemental Beta is up and running, and I must be frank; it contains more content than I expectected. So thumbs up to Stardock, and dispite what they said I have found the beta to be ... FUN ... I can't even imagine what it is going to be like after we start to get tactical battles, spell research, and the like.
Having Beta for only a few days now I do see one Huge hole in the Beta though, and that is communication between us, the civilians, and the Elemental Development Team. Suggestions get positive comments from forum members, but no responses from the developers. So the suggestion aspect of the beta feels fruitless, we would like some feedback even if it was "that idea is not going to be implemented" that way we can stop pushing it.
Also there are a lot of bugs in the first beta, but not as many as you would think by looking at the forum. We don't know what bug has or hasn't been reported and we often times list duplicate bugs. Yes we could scour the forums for a while to make sure we are not waisting our time by posting again, but it wastes less time just to post so we post and post and post.
With all that said though, I have a very easy solution that I think will make beta go smoother. The forum should create an official post that lists all the known bugs and their progress with squishing the bug. Normal forum members couldn't post on this specific post, and it would be update regularly to list any new bugs found. I imagine this couldn't take more than a few minutes because the development team is bound to have a list of all the known bugs readily available, and it would just be a matter of copying and pasting into a post.
Also it may go a long long long way if the team would try to respond to the suggestion posts. Just one response per suggestion would be fine. A simple, "this may pan out, give us more details" or "this idea is not good" would thrill us; and make us feel loved and important. We don't need you to respond ten seconds after we post the idea, but 3 days or so would be appreciated so we don't feel like we are just talking to ourselves.
We appreciate the opportunity to participate in Beta, but we would love to feel more involved and actually see what is being done with our feedback.
Thanks all!
