it actually was. But I really wanted to make of it a special occasion (if the build didn't explode, BSOD or anything like that and I'm glad that it lasted enough for me to finish my game).
I went to bed once I finished so I have found many (if not all?) of the bugs already reported (which is fine) so take this as my "I'm so happy I finally got the beta and it didn't explode on me" thread.
Figurines fall from their pedestals when in the Research screen (or the other similars).
At this moment some buildings seem pure placeholders. Which I suppose it purely intentional as this is just "try to make it work in your computer" beta build.
So my Sovereign goes happy happy all by himself when I find some wandering monsters!! Oh my Gawd, Trolls!! And 9 levels more than me!!!
So it was time for more cities and better army to face the menace. To be able to see my enemy helped to get ready.
Should have studied "Influence borders and You" at school tough.
While exploring, it became obvious that my skills were supreme... or that the popups need more work abouth their priorities.
So I continued exploring...
And finally found an enemy to battle. (Altough some silly Footsoldier wanted to command my army in the battle screen!! I had to find the sweet spot that allowed me to change the pic to that of my sovereign. Quite silly and a bit annoying.
But I won!! So happy happy end. Altough not sure why the deafeat appeared in the Results screen but my lost Footsolider (we'll always remember you, fella) didn't.
It had been a hard battle (really, that's what I paid the bards to sing so...) and I could feel it...
Also felt that my units wheren't anywhere to be found instead of being in the same group as the sovereign!!!
They reappeared the next turn so I was able to continue happily... into another battle!!!
Censorship couldn't stop us! So I could check out the troll home and how it could not be destroyed!!!!
Nerf! Nerf! Nerf!
So as we explored and expanded, we decided to exterminate other civilizations. And started a war with a Capitar. Was piece of cake but again the battle result screen was not our ally.
Later we noticed that the Resoln were NINJAS! WT..???
So the city patrol killed him for trespassing...
Or so we tought at first. Our enemies seemed to be expert survivalists.
Meanwhile, more troll killing made us notice weird things. Elemental Potter?
Really weird things. Nothing like to discover that you have an imaginary invisible scout out there exploring for you. Even if he doesn't move. Ever. And only last a few turns.
It was time to finish the game and only two enemy Sovereigns left so time to reduce that amount killing one while he was near one of his cities. But only the Sovereign amount!! Not the cities amount!!!!
Still unable to beat my enemies' suvival skill tough.
But in the end, the just reward was earned!
Then the game closed without warning. D'oh!
Trying to go back in time with a Load Game spell resulted in weird results.
I alternated gameplay with pic edition and forum reading and the game survived quite well until it went down. I had changed the setting to windowed mode with lower resolution than my monitor so no alt-tab hindering me.
I formally apologize to Frogboy for having fun but except for the bugs and some things that don't make much sense right now, I had a blast (making these screens while I played made easier to survive to the bugs
). I promise to be a good snowflake a do proper unfun betatesting in the future (that includes proper threads about Bugs instead of ARR-wannabes).
Also, I'd like to thank the game for not crashing until the very last moment. I'd have been sad if I had to leave this unfinished (first game is the only first game, you know).
