That seems to be fundamentally different from what lwarmonger suggested. Given that the current plan is to have resource flows packaged in specific, vulnerable map units, I think it is a swell idea to make your faction's treasury work the same way, and any stash of unassigned magic items you might have. Depending on how complex you can make your economy, there could be another interesting set of Big Decisions based on keeping your treasury well-secured and keeping enough coins in easy range of where you want to spend them.
And I really, really like the idea of being able to be a stupid channeler and go wandering off on some snark hunt only to come home and find you've been made penniless because you did not properly garrison the site of your treasury.
