BTW, in that thread https://forums.elementalgame.com/385685 I have proposed another formula for mana: mana = essence + max(0, INT + WIS - 20). I somehow find it strange that Intelligence affects only the strength of your spells and not your ability to cast more spells.

If you have a sovereign with the organized talent, lots of move and leading an army. Try to save the game. Then exit and load the game. Your sovereign will have only 2 moves, like he hasn't the organized talent. But if you hit next turn, the organized talent will be correctly taken into account and your sovereign will lead your army with all of his movements points

Following some feedback I have made on essence https://forums.elementalgame.com/385601 , I have though more about sovereign statistics. Brad has stated that your sovereign should feel powerful at the start of the game. Having a sovereign with only 2 times the HP of peasants and the same than wandering NPC doesn't really feel powerful. It would be another story if the HP of your sovereign (and only for the sovereign) was

The description of the familiar is: Formed from the very essence of the caster, a familiar is a precious entity. Weak at first, in time, it can become a potent weapon. The problem is that when it is summoned, it is generally better than any individual sovereign: 15 HP, 5 ATK, 5 DEF. But it doesn't gain any level. So I don't see how it can became a potent weapon.

It seems to be linked with factions: - if you choose pariden, you can research all spells book you have choosen - if you choose Altar or Capitar, you can only research life - If you choose gilden, you can research earth, fire and life - If you choose Tarth, you can research air, ice and life

I forgot the strange noise quest with the cost of 5 essence for having 2 eben-wolf. That wasn't really a problem in Beta 1Z when founding a city required 5 essence points and gaining a level would give you 5 essence points. But now that you can get only one essence points when levelling, it is another story.

In beta 2B, you can use essence for the following: - revive land : 5 points - create a garden (for an output of 8 food) : 3 points - summon a familiar: 1 point - escape deafeat by cheating death: 1 point Since there are some patches of revitalized lands available on the map, 5 points is really too much since if you are waiting a bit, you can hope to find a spot where to found a city without needing to spend essence. Similarly, plate armor decreases you combat speed. It would be horrible in term of gameplay if you couldn't move on the map a full armored units. after all, there were some complaint about base movement speed when it was only 1.

In the following savegame http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5057853/2b_mass_heal/Mass%20heal.EleSav my sovereign army is composed of 3 units: the sovereign ( 8/11 HP) Rilis ( 16/18 HP) and a familiar ( 15/15 HP) Mass heal is supposed to heal all the units in an army. When my sovereign cast Mass heal on his army, only the sovereign is healed.

That way, the weapons can have an absolute value for attack while taking into account the fact that some heros will do more damage than others with the same weapon. <

When I start a game with Lady Procipinee and go to the researchable spell, I see spells from all the books she has at the start of the game When I create a custom sovereign and choosing all available spellbooks, I can only research spell from the life spell book at the beginning of the game. I can't research spells from the earth, wind, fire and ice spellbooks.

Brad has stated numerous times that recruiting a Dragon would a very big thing. In beta 2B there are Drakes. And their stats are : HP 150, ATK 80, DEF 40. Since technology screen are presented as soon as a research is completed, it could ben ice to have a similar behavior for the spell research. I found myself not paying too much attention to that bar. So it could be nice if the spell book is presented to me when the spell bar reaches it maximum. That way, you wouldn't loose turn in spell research. Obviously, the spell book shouldn't be proposed if the previous turn, the spell bar was already filled
