I have captured a Capitar city. And I was suprised to see that this level 1 city has 2 studies and 2 workshops. It seems that the AI isn't aware that there are some limitations of the number of possible improvements by city level.

The empire tree is composed of 2 main items: the Sovereign/champion list and the city list. If you have lots of champions, the city list won't display all of your cities. I am able to undeploy the city list by clicking on the red arrow near my top city on the empire tree, but I am unable to do the same thing with the champion list.
What was your city level, what was the distance of the fertile tile and the center of your city and how buildable tiles are still left for your city? If you have only 3 tiles left, you won't be able to build a farm that requires 4 tiles. And if you have a level 1 city and the fertile land doesn't touch (even with just a corner) the center of your city, you won't be able to build the farm unless your city levels up.
As farm can only be build on fertile land, if you haven't any fertile land near your city, the option to build one won't appear, even if you have researched the technology.
also hexes > squares. Having a hex based system instead of the square based system = having more strategical and tactical options.
Perharps. But I don't see how Elemental city building can work with hexes ;)
Be wary, there are 2 installation paths available: one for application, the other for games. Be sure to select games.
After Beta 2 downloaded and installed itself, I launched it, skipped intro and went straight to menu, unchecking "full screen" and setting 1280x960 resolution (my favorite with 1280x1024 monitor, does not cover taskbar, allowing me to perform other activities). Then I quit and re-launched.
I am experiencing the same problem on my 5 year old XP computer with my 1280x1024 monitor. But I am able to play if I choose a lower resolution like 1152*864
Are you using fullscreen or windowed ?
Lifesap, 10 attack, 0 combat speed.
It is available when you choose to let live the brigands who have captured a knight
Since barracks are useful for training person and since a command post is mandatory for training people, it would may sense to be unable to build barracks if you don't have a command post.
I have tried to remove the noble and have only an army composed by my sovereign (5 speed) and recruited NPc with speed of 2. The army lead by the sovereign has a speed of 2.
I have tried to play with the gilden sovereign since he has the "organized" talent. The description of that talent states that armies lead by the sovereign move at the sovereign's speed. I was able to have a sovereign with 5 movement speed (2 from level up, and 2 from items). I have put with him and army composed of NPC with 2 movement speed and 1 movement speed (an escorted noble). Sadly, the army was moving at speed 1.
I was escorting a noble. As soon as I finished that quest, the unit that was doing the escort was complety surrounded by the fog of war. It seems that the program "forgot" that the escorting unit has a sight ;)
I have experienced a discrepancy for building the first city: I have recruited lots of NPC and my treasury was below 100. I wasn't able to build the first city since the button was greyed out and told me that I need 100 gildars. After having found more gildars, my treasury was above 100 and the build button was available. I clicked on it, founded my first city, and the treasury didn't change, meaning that the first city is free.
This is strange, it works normally now.

In this savegame http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5057853/beta2_dead_levelling/dead_level_up.EleSav Lord relias, Arvix and Cuessusaa are next to a troll. If you engage the fight with the troll and win, Arvix will level up after the battle, even if he has been slained by the troll.
For recruiting NPc, you need either : - that the NPC is in your territory - or that you are adjacent to the NPC
You can set a destination that requires lots of turns for your unit to reach. If you do that without enablin auto turn, the following turns the units move automatically only when you hit next turn. The keyboard tab in the options doesn't give you a shortkey that could allow you to move your unit. And this is particulary annoying, since those units with destination set are displayed as having movement left on the empire tree. You can't
In the following savegame http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5057853/beta2_battle_pb/Battle_PB.EleSav my army composed of Lord Relias and Arvix is right to a party of adventurers, composed of Lisera and Aninalue (combat rating of 0). When I initiate the combat, I see correctly the composition of the 2 armies that will be fighting. The combat animation indicate that the 2 ennemy units are killed. But when th
Some items increase you Combat Speed (CS) but nowhere you can see the CS stats of your unit. So you can't check if it adds correctly.
I have a french computer, with an AZERTY keyboard and windows is set to French. When entering the name of the savegame in Elemental, the game takes correctly in account that I am using an AZERTY keyword. But when using the Impulse overlay and trying to log with my Impulse account, the keyboard is considered as a QWERTY one: I type Peace on my AZERTY keybaord and the account become Peqce
What is your leader? What are its talents?
Are you using fullscreen (the default option) or not?
In previous betas, there was always a debug.err file that was generated on each game. This time, I don't see any debug.err file. That will be very annoying for reporting problem.
