Just had another look at the reviews and it looks far better now with around 9/10 player reviews that you see as you scroll down being positive. When I looked before and posted there were a dozen negative reviews in a row, pretty much all complaining of crashes which did not look good. I am happy GC3 sales are doing great, I am a big fa

Just read through the steam reviews and since GC3 was launched there is negative, after negative review, mainly down to constant crashing in one form or another. This is not good for future sales of GC3, a lot of steam users are swayed into buying or not buying based on those reviews. Already GC3 is at mostly mixed. Well I understand

Well personally, my only issue with GC3 is its still a MASSIVE resource hog. Which, given its a TBS game it doesn't need to be. I was around day 1 of GC2 and that was exactly the same a MASSIVE resource hog but with patches became very streamlined and took less and less resources up to run. <span style="font-size: small;

Don't know (yet) if GC3 is the same as GC2. But in GC2 the start of the game it was better to concentrate on manufacturing because that give you more bang for your buck so to speak. But by they endgame the majority of your planets you turn into cash cows generating tons of credits each turn, which like Franco fx says, pretty much allows you to buy everything. So manufacturing becomes unimportant really.
All I can find on the topic is in the gamepedia where it claims that "With money being so important to your economy" but it fails to explain exactly how it is important. Obviously you need it for upkeep but you can't really just buy things can you? It's not so much a separate method of galactic domination as it is more of a staple in the pantry or maybe your taxes. If that's the case then that's fine, but not very exciting. <b
It seems that in the lasted version the "steam cloud" save backup is no longer an option... maybe that is the issue. Im guessing they turned it off until full release?
Well, I hope they turn it back on soon! Where are the saves, anyway? I looked around but can't find them. Had no problem with saved games before V 0.97!

Playing V 0.97 and my saves keep randomly disappearing! I never use autosave but instead normally save as Start/Middle/End, just saving over them throughout the game. But its continually missing Start/Middle saves and occasionally missing End, which in that case means I have lost the entire game progress. Hope this resolves itse

Well I am in favour of a Dr Who mod. Daleks, Cybermen, Weeping Angels, Time Lords etc...whats not to love? I was a big fan and enjoyed the Star Trek and Babylon 5 mods for GC2.

To be fair, it is still in beta, so we can't complain too much that MP is not working, just highlight the fact and hope its ready soon. If its not ready on release we can complain big time as it was a feature clearly promised in GC3. Having said that, I too am interested in playing GC3 MP, perhaps just on tiny/small maps. I play a lot of Dom3 and now Dom4 MP, in fact probably a 100+ MP games, great fun. Those are PlayByEmail which works very well. I assum

I think it should be kept the way it is and full sensor ships being allowed. Any player who considers it a exploit or 'cheesy' should simply not design those ships, use some self restraint. For multiplayer, it should be agreed before the game kicks off, wether to allow them or not. Also, a mod may be able to be made that automatically does not allow them just for MP games. With limited/precious dev time this is a issue which can
The complaints are coming from the folks who paid $45, not the founders. They're not getting the additional stuff. This isn't the first $25 sale either. The race to the bottom on PC prices has been great for consumers, though it's becoming hell on indie devs.
Ah okay, gotta... Yes I know as a big steam user that GC3 was on 50% off for about
Quoting Meglobob, reply 19 1. Any future DLC released are free to you, players like me after pay. Brad says GC3 will have a 7 year development life and there will be lots and lots of DLC, all free to founders I assume. Note Brad also says there will be expansions
If you are a precursor, @Meglobob, what am I?
A ancient precursor? Just to add to the 50% debate, I personally have maxium respect for Founders or Early Access supporters, stumping up $100 for Alpha is definitely, 'doing your bit' for the games industry and making games possible that otherwise may never happen.
The second thing i wanted to give feedback on is the tech tree. It is so dull and linear and unreadable. On the main tech screen, 80% of the space is taken by this totaly useless white robot. Techs and bonuses are on the top left part ... why ? The icons are too small, some are messed up (like the green health icon which tooltip says +1 production). It is very hard to tell what tech will give you what, where are the starbase modules or better sensors for example. [/

I bought GC3 in the recent 50% off on steam sale and am proud to be a new 2nd class citizen to the all powerful, all knowing founders! [e digicons][/e] By the way look at my account start date, I was playing stardock games at least 3 years in 2003 before the lot of you! Does t

Mega. Go into SDC and then open, 'tools' then 'settings' then click on 'Internet' and click 'refresh XML data'. this will ensure you have the latest data installed. Then go to 'Games' and click the (+) next to Galciv II. The beta should appear at the bottom of the GCII files list. Hope that helps. Drengin Thanks Drengin. Fiddl

Exactly where is the link to download Dark Avatar beta? I got my email with DA serial number. But no links included as to where to download. Tried clicking on Brad's, GET THE BETA HERE link in the news section. But this takes u to where u can pre-order DA, ie...pay again for it. I pre-ordered August. So off to stardock central I went, registered my DA serial number which it said was successful. Then went to game updates, still no DA beta download. <img src="http://

Marcathonas is spot on, this is a perfectly fair way to distribute the DA beta. The only other point I will add is that if u make the beta open to all, some will play that and then not buy DA at all.
