Do u start this game pre 1.4x then upgrade to 1.4x? This can cause those types of problems. Always complete yr games before upgrading or start new ones when upgraded.

Imo the real problem about the colony rush is the AI's are completely useless at it. Not if u play suicidal, then they r utterly fantastic at it, will always out cononise u.
I am a big fan of the metaverse and hopefully Brad/Frogboy/Draginal will reconsider, perhaps even try to expand it for the future, its unique and excellent for people who have no time for multiplayer, like 80% of GC2 players. After all he did say there would be no more updates after 1.31 but now we have 1.4x, so who knows. I know he wants a good community on the forums but I think he over reacts sometimes when he is getting grief off some of his customers over GC2/metaverse/m
Woo Hoo, just noticed I am now a Senator for the Orca's...what are my Senately duties? Do I have to attract more voters? Do we hold council from time to time? We will go on a quest to drop the Diplomats into Mount Doom? Will we have to side with Green Peace in an effort to stop 'experimental space whaling'? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/g
Will kick off my first 1.4 sometime next week. 1.4 sounds a whole lot better than 1.31 which I disliked, so I need to summon the willpower to finish my gigantic 1.31 game, then I can have fun with 1.4, hopefully it will go some way to being as good as 1.2. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote

Nobody has been talking about miltary starbases. Eco are nice, but military are great!! No they r crap...no offence but they have a huge flaw, they can't move. To a newbie player they r great but to a experienced old hack (at GC2 anyway), they r a waste of resources. Get dreadnoughts/battleships instead, much more fun. U will win much quicker
When I first started playing GC2, I was a big starbase user, I built resource, eco, military and inf bases. Now 8 months, with considerable playing experience, 50+ games later, the only starbases I build r resource starbases which I max. out. I am also winning comfortably on Suicidal, hardest settings possible, against any number of races u care to put in front of me etc, etc... So eco, military and inf. starbases r useless to me. This tells me they need to be made more power
Meglobob's tip of the day:- No. 21 Making money... So the first tech u researched was impulse drive, the second tech to research is sensors, to give u loads of $$$. Sensors gives u the survey module. So once researched, design and build fast survey ships. I usually use my homeworld, with the rest of my new colonys sti
Hey Mega if you do get a chance to post some more hints and tips, could you give us a couple focusing on the financial side of things - how to get a fat and happy economy ticking over as fast as possible? Ok, tip 21 to follow. Hope it helps u
Stardock/Brad/Frogboy Can u please reconsider yr policy to updates since 1.2 which was great? Since 1.3 onwards u have adopted a policy of removing the fun, enjoyable elements of the game. Stock exchanges is just the latest one. We all love updates for bug fixes, better AI and new features. However alot of your most loyal players hate the nerfing/destroying of elements of the game. Stock exchanges where alot of players most favourite building, losing it hurts. Also it make
I was shocked to read the change log. They're going to nerf stock exchanges. I posted my rant at the end of that change log post. Well, it's been real and it's been fun, but since 1.3 and 1.4, it hasn't been real fun. What's the point of playing a game whose updates only give me less enjoyment? See ya. Got to say I agree with Craig. 1.2 was a gr
B) Altarians, so I can say it before anyone else I agree americans r most like the Altarians.
This looks really cool and a vast improvement on what we have at the moment.
+ Stock market no longer gives morale bonus (wasn't supposed to in the first place) Given a morale bonus since GC 1. <img src="http://images.stardock.c
Welcome thagee, hope the information contained in this thread proves useful to u. Only 2 rules really, have fun and the weapon of choice, the Doom Ray.
Does anyone know whether this has ever been done before? The only time I have come across something like this was in a PlayByMail game (yea...before PBEM...like the stone age), called Adventurer Kings. It was only battle reports as well, not the entire game. It was really good. When I say resource intensive, I think they mean developm
This is a feature I am looking forward too. However, it is very ambitious, so may not live upto how u imagine it. I believe Frogboy as already said he regrets making it a feature of Dark Avatar, as it consumes alot of resources. Lets wait and see.
Edit: Does the manual help, since you say it's also a strategy guide? The manual also lists each nation (and each nation by age), what fortresses the nation uses, and gives a sample basic strategy. These strategies are real
I have Dom3, its excellent, been playing for just over a week now and barely scratched the surface, only played 3 nations out of 50+. This one will keep me happy through the winter...
1) Okay, just for fun, how many hours, days, weeks, months etc of yr life have u given to GC2? 7 months for me or in stardock's terms 630 man hrs, the longest by along way I have ever played a single game and can see me investing more time with Dark Avatar... 2) So where is GC2 on yr all time favourite game list, out of 100 lets say? As I have played this game for longer than any other ever it can only have one place, no. 1, which makes me a sad fanboy and GC2 junkie
but I suppose if you've been playing this type of game for years, it would get a bit cliche. This describes me I suppose, playing a isolationist race would be interesting, the arch manipulater for example, plays other races off each another, has unique techs (cloaking/espionage etc...), it would add a different aspect to the game.
One thing for sure, the smilies r cool, , even if this says hot I would like to see more of them... , tongue in cheek to me.
This is generally true, but has anyone else ever noticed how often a PQ 7-8 that you don't grab early often has a +700% or a few +300% production bonuses ? Yes, I have noticed this, target them after I have advanced spying. <TD class="mb-Body-Q
If you start a game and find yourself in a corner, RESTART THE GAME! Why? U r less likely to be attacked. Also u will have just 1 or 2 neighbours, so its easy to plan yr attack. As galaxies do not wrap around u do not after worry about 2 directions. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-Tab
