I have only used omega defense once against the dreadlords in apocaplyse on painful level, used with oribitual defense it made the ships stationed there powerful enough to survive repeated dreadlord attacks until reinforcements arrived to continue the offense. Also kidrik's idea above with a spin control center sounds interesting. But overall i agree with everyone else, they r not powerful or worthwhile enough to use a precious build tile on a planet

Been playing dreadlords campaign apocalypse scenario for a week and a half now and i am slowly grinding them back but here's a few points i have noticed about them. The dreadlords DO gain tech, my torian allies conquered a dreadlord world, then the dreadlords conquered it back. The turn after, they started fleeting there ships with logistics 10. I think they captured the tech off the torians, which was a nasty development! When

I hate, really hate the dreadlords, they r so smug with there 1000+ ships, weapons and tech i can only dream of! Perhaps this is because i have only played the campaign game so for? All the other races r really sweet , lovely and downright nice. Even the neutrals co-operate with me. The drengin and Yor hardly put up any resistance at all, but those dreadlords, always there spoiling things.........sigh....

The dreadlord campaign is easy, destroy every dreadlord transport u see, develope yr planets, tech however u want and eventually wipe the floor with the dreadlords. Only apocalypse on painful level is proving any real challenge to me but even here the dreadlords commit the fatal flaw of not escorting there troop transports. So eventually u win as the dreadlords cannot conquer any planets. I protect my planets, my teams planets and any neutrals. The

Yea dominico yr spot on about low quality planets, they r a drag on yr economy, i suggest 7+ quality but higher the better. One further point, as a new player, jumping straight into the dread lord campaign is a good idea. The first few small maps r like training missions, also u have 100% loyal allies who r perfect trading partners.

Hi there, A couple of newbie tips:- 1) Play on a low level of difficulty to get into the game, the AI is very good, normal difficulty is like very hard on most other games. 2) Computer players don't cheat, anything they do, u can do as well apparently they just maximise there resources at 100% or near it even on lower levels of difficulty. 3) Put spending upto 100%, try to keep your planets morale at 100% for

Guys if u find siege bad, wait till u see apocalypse which i am currently playing on painful level ouch....... Completed siege 1st time on tough lvl. Never lost a planet, only got invaded twice and 4 billion humans defeated, just 10 million dread lords. The trick is avoid dread lord battleships, escorts etc like mad, early on, build 2-3 early warning ships spd 4 max sensors and 2-3 very fast spd 6+ attack fighters att 1. Then concentrate on shooti
