Despite the above opinion of the XBL community as a group. (not going into that rather dark cave) A true Community does not require 10 Million people. It only requires a very solid base of very dedicated players. Not that 10 Million unit Sold would not be good here mind you. LOL

Big Smile For Winter first. :)
"Instead of apologies, you could have saved us from your venting."
You did it as well. :) Raven X has a point. He has expressed it with zeal. Kudos for that. We all face the same uncertainly at this point. What don't we know, what haven't we seen. How can we help, if we are being treated like Mushrooms, minus what they feed us part. lol I too have come to Elemental for reasons of my own, but the main one is th
Combat Speed - A systems that allows the player to convert total Combat Speed, a combination of Moves & Attacks, into one or the other, depending on the situation, would be perfect. Example: Squad A has a 20 point Combat Speed (Move + Attack) If they are attacked, the saved Moves (that turn) can be converted to Attack use. Otherwise, if Squad A wishes to advan
You could still have any Single, Company or Platoon selection available. Simply pick any one Company member, you get the company etc. If you were to have 10-20 combined Companies or Platoon strewn across the battlefield and need to move ALL of them quickly, simply select your pre generated Ctrl Group #3, and they ALL highlight and off you go. I do like the split idea

Would Control groups work? Click and Drag any # of troops, either within a large group, or around 2-3 smaller ones, once selected, hit Ctrl + #1-0 and it is now a group selectable with the #1 key at anytime. An RTS standard...

If at all possible, I would love to see a TBS Tile (without Grid ON) (Hexs are out due to the Engine afaik) based battles that allow me to select squads or singles and designate multiple turns of moves by simply selecting a spot somewhere on the Map. The visual would tell me by a path on the ground that I click via nodes, each showing the Turn # that spot represents

Writing what amounts to individual AI's for each creature, or even just the "big impact" units would be most likely impractical. The reason being, would all Dragons behave the same? Wha

Thankfully, being somewhat selfish myself, applaud the Hardware guys that have made it such, that we will get Beta 3 as well, with the Picture Show on. Then, based on this rather fluid schedule</s
Well then I feel for those without permanent connections at home, or those who cannot offered to buy their own Satellite. ;)
Quoting Aractain, reply 66 Well a 'living' world is also scripted, just scripted around a template of actions rather than a specific set of waypoints etc. No, a "simulation" of a living world is not scripted at all. Edit: a
"There's a futility here that bothers me."
Even though I might agree in principle with this sentiment, it is not often "players" get to use, or even see a RAW game engine. The term Beta here has been a major misnomer. I assumed it was used because many would shy away from the term "Alpha Build", or have no idea what it even meant. Most gamers know what a Beta might entail. <span style=

If it becomes, Turn 1, go find and terminate all Troll and Spider caves and nests, or else, then what is the point. This is not a jab cephalo, but what do you suggest? Hunting for the Herbs and seek out the lost recipes has also been done. Experimenting on peasants, perhaps. Perhaps asking AI-C, after you have had some dealings with him, if he has dealt with AI-A and how it went? BUT, remember, perhaps AI-C is simply untrustworthy as well.. LOL Ah the intrigue grows...
Beta 2 and Beta 3 are being merged togethor, and as such, they are turning on the Picture Show. So yes. It should be way more playable that it has been, not that that was the point of Alpha Beta 1 though... ;)
To further the "Living World" thought it seems prudent to mention that unlike a DM's D&D session, a PC game has many constraints that have to be applied, before, the adventurers, SoV and gang, actually show up. I too have DM'd in my day, and have always felt a bit sad when playing games that could/would be so much better "if" the program had some random inherent logistics algorithm running to provide the creatu
