One way or the other though, heroes are going to be able to gain access to spells so long as the Sovereign imbues them with essence, this has been known for awhile now. The only difference between what we currently know and the proposal here is that currently heroes may have access to every spell (Saying may because I don't know how combat spells w

Whether it was forethought, simple genius, or a requirement for the future modding abilities, it does seem a bit odd that SD built a new RT based game engine, with an obvious lean towards CT as the primary battle model proposed, then had to back down to the newest iteration of Tile/Turn based for Vanilla. I really hope Brad does not take to long to, if he does at all of course, writes up a Post-Mortem for E:WoM aft

But the other tactical system, just like the other economic systems we've tried, aren't "gone", they're just not exposed in the shipping game but that is something we can change as we get time. I want to see it before totally committing one way or the other. Sim turn sounded solid, but the Dev have seen the other end. What I would like to see, even in the Turn/Tile-based Tactical Combat, is not have the Grid actually visible. Just present the player with arrows, on the ground, that indicate when the max move distance has been consumed.

Here is a question. How did the TW series handle combined troop types, if possible, in relation to Movement speeds? Did the whole group Move at the slowest units pace? In Elemental, as we have seen, if my SOV is moving at 5 tiles per turn, then I pick up a Hero moving at 2, that stack now Moves at 2 max. This would seem to present an issue when wanting to use combined

I think Raven's post will stir some debates/considerations that are good to have. His point regarding player control is beneficial and needs to be raised, because as he points out we're seeing some things lean towards less control (WTA, pre-made maps unreflective of chosen terrain, time limits on battles, etc.), and unnecessary(?) simplicity (splitting

If they introduce any protection spells that move out beyond the "personal" level, one could then min/max single Hero's with MAX power spells, without using up personal protection slots, working under the umbrella of those spec'd to protect. It creates sour scenarios...
And I feel that with the Beta 2 +3 combo, we will have Pictures, things will open up substantially. I mean, think about it? What is the one thing SD needed to totally control, the final "LOOK" of Elemental.
