So you know, fix one problem create another... Now I can't figure out why my turn will not end, and it turns out I have a caravan sitting in what appears to be the tile of another city, only it isn't apparantly legal for it to form a route, so it is just there. And since TAB doensn't find it, have to hunt and peck around map to find why turn isn't ending. There needs to be a difference in the game between caravans that have established routes and ones that have not.

I saw the AI build dragon roosts in 1.08 but never actually field dragons. Yet to be seen in 1.09. AI still treats 1 single observer (3/0) in every city you have in the early game (say, -100 turns) as you are stronger than they are. I realize AI overhaul is coming in 1.1, just saying. This is on "ridiculous". I've been trying to explore alternative strategies, as that is what I think will give Elemental the best "legs" (as in, the same reason I still play MoM 16 years later).

Just noticed I have a 200% bonus to prestige in my capital. Current prestige is 24. It should be 10 (palace 7 plus two royalty heroes). So that's another problem, even if the +200% bonus were correct it isn't calculating it correctly. All other cities are correct. Edit: on second look, all cities have +200% - I am guessing the two royalty heroes are somehow appying as a percentage instead of a straight bonus maybe?

I don't know how random it is, 9 times out of 10 Janusk looks like that in my games. But yes I have occasionally seen him look differently. Also if you shaved that Star Trek guy wouln't he kind of look like the jack-ass reporter from Die Hard? Maybe it's just me.

I would say for the most part all of your observations are correct and the spells are not working as intended. They will likely be fixed in version 1.1, when there will be a massive magic re-balancing. Or try them again after 1.09 comes out tonight or tomorrow. As a side note the way it works right now casting Confusion on an enemy pretty much makes your units invulnerable for three turns, so enjoy that while it lasts. Speaking of shorter animations, there has been an incredibly long delay after attacking/counterattacking with a unit on a horse or warg, does that get fixed also? Thank you for the update!

As someone who likes to play games and doesn't know squat about programming them, thank you very much. I mean good lord, I've sunk probably 60-100 hours into Elemental ALREADY, crashes and all. That's as much if not more gameplay than I get out of most titles, so it has definitely been worth the money. Anticipating how it will improve just makes it all the better. Even though my long history with Master of Magic predisposed me to this game, if it were total junk I wouldn't be playing it.

I thought of that, but this game was crashing every 3-5 turns by the end, so I restarted Elemental (and my computer even) many, many times, and the baby pics loaded each time. Or maybe I'm crazy, its all possible :)

My only speculation is that having started a new game since that last save somehow altered it. Does the dynasty system keep information between games? I don't know, but I swear they had baby pics. I assume you have some magic way of finding them but in case

Vicious! :) Although if you think it through, 30 is not unreasonable for a 4th child if every parent's level-up went into essence. Also I've noticed the AI seems to pump Essence almost exclusively so it is from the AI's side of the family that I'm getting my large base on grandchildren; personally I tend to not raise base essence over 10 because of all the eventual temple bonuses.

The reports of 800+ mana are probably not BASE mana, but adjusted after buildings. Remember by the time these kids grow up some of these players have 30-50 Temples of Essence, so even 20 base mana can become 500. In the game I'm quoting at the start of this thread the highest base mana I think I saw was about 33.
