It certainly does depend on how you play them. The most important resource for the Dead are the cities and armies of your enemies. Declare war early, grab death shards, essence is very important. But if you play the Dead like other factions, they will be underpowered.
I've fixed 3, 4 and 5 (and some other minor issues). w will get the DLC updated early next week.
@Derek -- did you miss my PM for the river fixes for the FE Scenario map? I'd be happy to e-mail you directly the files, or post them on the forums for all to enjoy the river fixes.
I have all your changes checked in here, but it wasn't in time for the patch. It will be int he next update. Thanks!
I do like that masterwork chain requires chain mail prof. Hmm... But I can see the point to having light plate be wearable with chain mail prof, if for no other reason than to even out the armor upgrades for Gilden. I'll switch it and we can try it out.
Fixed, thanks.
Cool, thanks for letting us know Borg999.
@ Derek -- there are invisible rivers in the FE scenario campaign maps - the first map and the second map of the campaign. There are also rivers that are not rivers in those maps as well. If you allow I'll post the fix for this.
That would be awesome, just PM them to me and I will get them updated, thanks!
being playing the latest update 1.4 - these are some feedback that cause gameplay to become slowwwww..... 1) clearing forest around towns still dont work - why have this feature when it really serve no purpose but to make player do more work? after a while when i kept trying to clear imaginary foreest, i just ignore this feature and there is no difference in the game Derek: This works for me. Im not sure what you mean by this. You can on
I noticed that the population requirements for cities has been modified. 120 for L3, etc. Not listed in changelog. Also noticed that the population meter shown in the main screen UI no longer has a shaded section denoting how far your population can grow. You can still see the shaded section in the City Details screen.
Fixed, thanks!
Well, back atcha! You guys are amazing and usually very responsive! There are still some niggling issues, but you've done your best and we appreciate that. Just remove those bunny slippers and I'll further support you
Those Bunny Slippers were changed from being random drops way back when we last talked about it. Go buy some DLC! ;)
I agree with Illauna, I think your problem is Windows XP. I'm also confused as to why you would require 16Gb of RAM and an SSD to upgrade to it. To answer youyr question I have an Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS running GeForce 327.23 Driver on the computer I am currently using and I odn't have any graphics issues. It is Windows 7.
Fixed, thanks.
It works for me, is anyone else having an issue?
Sorry guys, it isn't ready for public beta yet. But we are working hard on it and it should be released soonish... As a personal note it is awesome that you guys are out here reading change logs and looking forward to the next patch. I read some other game forums where no matter what the dev does the community is bitter. You guys are amazing and it definitly keeps us motivated and excited about improving the game.
Sounds like an old unit (back when they would simply try to find a weapon with the best pierce attack instead of weapon type). Delete and recreate the unit and see if you still have the problem.

No files found matching mask means that the game didn't find any files of the appropriate type to load (ie: mod files). You save isn't very usable for me since it contains mods. Does the problem you are running into occur without mods?
The DLC's dont change gameplay. They add more maps, quests or equipment to the game. Since the manual doesn't go through all of the maps, quest and equipment it doesn't need to be updated. The in game Hiergamenon is automatically updated when you buy DLC so it will include new improvements (some of the quests unlock special improvements) and equipment that you have in your game.
You are correct, that 2 should not be there. It will be fixed, thanks!
Also Trog's starting spearmen have Armor profficiency, unlike any other starting spearmen. This makes them rather expensive in training.
Fixed, thanks!
All fixed for 1.4, thanks!
