unless the retail version radically slow down pacing the current ratio seems way to far the other way from where it was.. I think some where in between where it was and now is would be fine.. I mean after all having one or tow offspring joining you in the field is not only fun but a god alternate way to get more heroes...

I do think a limit of some type is in order.. I like the idea that one ring per finger and thumb so 10 tops.. I also like the idea of one ring of type for example one ring of endurance... then make rings bonus value go up based on goodie hut level. (i.e. level 1-3 rings of +1 or +2 and so on). I am not really surprised.. If you think about it compared to console gaming. pc has far less shelf representation (which is due to console gaming) .. Take Gamestop for example (full disclosure I work there) in my local big city ( I live in rural Michigan and drive 20 miles to get to work) PC game only cover 2 sides of a 4 x 6 (so 4 eight square feet) gondola while Xbox 360 new cover a 12 x 8 (96 square feet) section of wall.. and another 12 x 8 for used xbox 360.. Ok tried more in 3c to deal with this.. now I have 8 unit stack stationed along my roads just so i can attempt to keep trade flowing... add to this that I can't put them in a guard mode (stationed with aggressive response to enemy units in sight then back to guard spot unless defeated or similar) so I keep accidentally moving them... I still manage to lose caravan units.. heck for the measly 10% bonus to income i am beginning think i am done worrying about them.. I don't need the

Ironically I still cant build on one resource "Wargs" (multiple crashes and reloads later still no go) however all others so far are fine.. I am looking for horse to try to build on to see if that is fubar oh and for the record I have researched mounted warfare but that should have made no difference and did not.
Once you have loaded in and get error try saving game then exit and reload ... this seems to work for me (at least so far)

I did a restart of game launched from impulse then was able to build again... not sure if impulse was the trick or not at this time... just finished test from launching from desktop icon ... I was able to build.. so load through impulse make no diffidence.. secnario was game got sluggish during battle exited out after battle over.. reload and could not build got this message.. "can't build: harvesting this resource requires additional technology." then exited and reload

I must say some of these are solid suggestions to solving the clutter while maintaining a good mechanism for delivering quests.. Here is another type of quest hub we could have.. as we level adventure lvl add a structure called bounty board.. then add a shop like action button to interact with it.. it could offer x amounts of quests for each level...
While maybe a reduction in city size is not a bad thing and making each game square hold 4 structures would go along way to helping this... that would be the most I would do... as it stands i have no real issue myself but I can see your point...
