not sure i am for this idea.. however not sure i am against.. i can see uses for DC out side of diplomacy (i.e. dealing with other kingdoms) but it may take away from one of the potential good reasons to push diplomacy research... I am kinds of fond that each of the trees has some thing unique about it that makes it desirable to pursue... like i said just not sure... lets here some more input on this [e digicons]:D[/e]
well, of course shields should be only usable with 1H weapons and most polearms.
I would say some pole arms. needs to be handled on a weapon bases.. for example lance normally 1handed with shield spear either 1 or 2 handed halberd was normally two handed chopping /thrusting so each type included in elemental should have a one or handed classification.. Just be glad you did not buy the disk version in NA.. I bought it a Gamestop ( i work there and get a discount so why would I not) and guess what there is a drm error. I returned int and same thing.. I got to Klaypso Media's forums and lo and behold I am not the only one. they take about .. http://forum.kalypsomedia.com/showthread.php?tid=5378&highlight=Disk+Not+Found+Error
Things I'd like to see Champions do: * Champions should be replenished when killed (create a new one). * Champions should sometimes "rest" or "camp" (or just fortify) in the wilderness so they are easier to ketch. * Champions should visit your cities, rest inside inns, and shop at your merchants and markets. * Champions should go on their own quests, fight animals, and stop bandits if it's their agenda. * We should be able to encourage Champion
Nice find Raven X I knew reading your posts for a reason [e digicons]:w00t:[/e] .. Thanks to Stardock for the most awesome map with game ever!
One of the planned expansions is going to deal heavily with the water, so you can expect a more "stuff" there. For now, it's just geographical. Serious? Where can I get more info on this?
the thread referenced is here
Quoting Frogboy, reply 11 10) Re The Seas. Indeed. The seas in Elemental are pretty empty. I understand why city growth is tied to food.. this is supposed to simulate the struggle to feed groups of people in this recovering world.. when a city levels up due to enough housing/food/population area of influence expands as well as improvements and building space. however I can see where allowing for small (say single or 1/2 tile expansions) based on influence, prestige or DC could also add another layer to the game.. it is worth considering.
Now when I go to design my own unit sometimes they will be a male and sometimes a female, is there a way to choose this?
there is a little button you hit that re rolls a random looking character this includes gender for empires with the egalitarian attribute. <img style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="http://content.screencast.com/users/twohawks/folders/Jing/media/579f9ebf-49d4-4a2a-b895-a0c273cfc3b2/2010-07-26_0912.png" alt="" width=
here is the info i based my assumptions on [e digicons]:D[/e] . https://forums.elementalgame.com/389038/get;2692012
Quoting Spitz, reply 23 When do you expect we'll get to try out some of the new goodness. don't expect anything before beta 4 at this point and after 4 darn little [e digicons]:)[/e] .. by then they will be in full on release mode..
not concerned in the least.. come on august 24th!
shields and two handed weapons need to be mutually exclusive. as far as I know all were griped in one hand.. hence the restriction vs a two handed weapon..
However they do it, when a monster eats one of my caravans, I want to be able to see where it was. This is a big deal to me.
QFT.. these bastigs irritate the heck out of me.. I still want a caravan guard option through warfare or Civic research.. unlocks a building where we can invest gildar hiring guards for these things.. more gildar = better guards..
anyone who assumes that there are no links between the 2 is forgetting that they both sprang form the same mind/minds.. I would bet dollars to donugts that we see more links and hints of a connection in the finished game, book and futher expansions .. let alone the yet to be announces release of GalCiv 3 (ok so i am just hoping here [e digicons]:D[/e] ) but can you imagine a game with the space exploration / combat of Galciv and the ground development /combat/exploration of elemental!
Its never been about who came first.. (although Stardock was doing business before steam).. Its more about steams business model vs Stardock. in a nut shell Stardock central and now impulse has never been restrictive to software developers or end users where steam has.. what Stardock is about is options.. and it simply makes no sense for Stardock who oppose steams limiting / restrictive fees / practices to do business with those they view to be the competition..
well from reading frogboys post much of whats being said here is in consideration... in one form or another.. I still think in MP is should have less effect to zero effect on opposing human players.. after all we do not need some metric to effect our perceived values when dealing with another player.. if your a much bigger Civ then I let me choose my selling price of items to you, based on how I perceive the threat selling them to you is not some behind the scenes mechanic.. how
I have to admit these quest unlock resources could add a nice twist to the adventure tree.. once you have reached adventure level say 5/6 have a random chance every other adventure level or so to get a quest resource unlock.. further limit it by making the odds less likely for a 2nd and damn near impossible (but still a chance for a 3rd).. this could be another benefit of pursuing the adventure tree.. or some other similar mechanic.. it is intriguing [e digicons]*
Thanks for the help. However, I was USING that method (ie i was clicking on the resource, and it would NOT give me the build option). This only happened using the empires, and it was only with timber mills.
then that must be / have been bug ..
Charisma needs more importance, definitely. I like the idea that charisma: Lowers prices of hiring new heroes Army moral effects Diplomacy bonuses Quest bonuses More quests from people Lowers store prices Increases fertility rate Possibly city bonuses (prestige or gold, from "governing" or something) It just needs more function, imo.
Sol
as far as multiplayer goes.. the between human interactions should remain separate from DC and more like the game of risk.. as far the the AI's in multiplayer should have same effects as in single player as frogboy has hinted at.. i.e while i am bamboozling my human enemies in to thinking its me and them against the others while say the same to the others... i might be using my dc to get one or more AI factions to go to war with the same human player softening them up for when I move in
it does look sweet...
I believe its all random for getting children. Slowly but eventually you will get all your 4 children
[e digicons][/e] none of my games last long enough .. since 3c I have only seen 1 child and they never made it to adult hood before I or and AI had eliminated all others.. there is another thread in which we discussed this and here is what I said
unless the retail version radically s
his was changed from 3B to 3C. Any resource in your borders can be built upon if you can afford it, by clicking on the resource itself and selecting the build option.
yes this is how it works also if its right next to town you get the build option from town menu.. otherwise you have to click the resource.
I believe the largest culprit of the confusion is table top gaming.. perhaps more specifically A.D.&D. as far as I know it is because of this games listing the longsword as a 1 handed weapon. in these game the normal first two handed / one handed sword was a bastard sword. plus though the historical long sword could be used two handed for extra damage it was able to be wielded 1 handed..
