It also doesn't help that Elemental has NO DRM and yet you're still complaining because it's not exactly 100% perfectly align to your own standards (Why do I need to have Impulse to download a patch?). When there's FAR worse and invasive DRM out there - it really comes off as just whining. Because it could be a whole lot worse. Plus, what Elemental/Impulse has is actually as much a convenience as it is anything else, especially since it's not even needed to run the game.
<

So I guess I was right after all (despite being labelled as a "troll") See, possible scenario: 20 years from now. Stardock has gone bankrupt and disapperead (obviously I hope not!) I get a futuristic supercomputer with a WinXP emulator. Then I find out that I CANNOT install a patched version of game. It's not even a matter of money: it's sheer imp

Elemental will be a fun game to play on august 24.. sure it will be diffrent in 30 days (after first patch) and again in 60 days(2nd patch) .. add on all the potential of all the mods and expansions to come.. well it will be finished when I stop playing ... at least for me .. i don think that's going to happen any time soon.. sure I may take a break while i play a different game that's released or wait for a cool mod / expansion to be finished. but i will be back.. to say
It se

hey have every intention of it.. here is the quote explaining it.. from the modding guide post
In Beta 4, when you choose one, you have to wait until it loads all the data (we’ll add a fancy load screen later) so at first you’ll be looking at a black screen for a bit.
[e digicons]:D[/e]

Its not really gone they just moved it from the game setup screen to the workshop.. so you wont see it in the game setup (unless they change it again) but should see it in the modding tools that the game is shipping with. Frogboy said they did this in order to make it a more robust tool with more options ... I suspect we will see it in tomorrow or Fridays update as its the Modding update heh heh.
The last two weeks have definaly been a blur Yesterday we all took a break, now we're back in to push out Beta 4, then it's back to resting for a bit. I want to say the dev team averaged around 180-200 hours in the last two weeks, so nobody can say we were slacking! Lots of that what wrapping up specifics for the Gold master (cutscenes, campaign, etc), but you'll be seeing alot of that work in Beta 4! We'll keep ya po
It has nothing to do with your level
Hmmm I though it had to do with level and turns... i.e. even if you don't level it will go up.. it just goes up faster if i am leveling a lot. at least that's how i thought it seemed to work.. but as I have said I have been wrong before [e digicons][/e]

.
Quoting Twohawks, reply 2I believe it will be available to us just as part of the mod tools.. Frogboy said something about a workshop mode, sound like there we could create our factions then start a game and use them... I suspect we will see it again in once 4 releases ..then again i could be wrong. would not be the first time heh... wasn't that the race making tool?
well that is what the op was askin

I have not yet had any problem making money.. i usually make 2 cities fairly soon or I concur the second one.. I also have always had at least one gold spot at my city or a location i make or take the second city.. add in the gold made adventuring and although I have had some slow starts i have finished every game with thousands of gildar sitting in the bank. I have played dozens of games right through to the end.. sounds to me like the OP had a real bad start.

not sure i have been on a 1 to 2 year cycle on my video cards lately (at one point it was more like 6 to 8 months).. however the last upgrade I made was for 1 game in particular other then that one game my last card was rocking and so far my my 9800 gtx+ is more then holding its own.. at this time i have no plans to upgrade in the next year... as i said most pc games have a low minimum specs, this does not mean that a higher end card does not net me more in fact it does.. ya&nbs

another factor might be that while for a you almost needed a new video card for every game as the games minium system specs went up with almost very release.. that's not so much the case now.. take a look at this sampling of game video requirements: Ruse: 128 MB DirectX® 9.0c-compliant video card ATI® Radeon X1000/GeForce® 6 Series fallout3: Direct X 9.0c compliant videocard with 256MB RAM NVIDIA 6800 or better / ATI X850 starcr

since I work at gamestop i can tell you how its going to work there.. at gamestop elemental has a ship date, not a street date. a ship date means exactly that, on release day the game will ship to gamestop and normally arrive the following day as we have over night shipping with most vendors.. a few take 2 days.. (so games in stores on 8/25/10 in most cases) conversely Starcraft 2 had a street date at gamestop so we got the games on the Friday/ Monday (shipped from vendor Thursday

From what I have read I am under the impression in order to differentiate cities they want to have us choose which improvements to build based in near by resources.. bard had said in a video in this way you might have one city based on more food enhancing improvements while another city might be gold or research.. It has been stated that they want to be able to tie resources to cities.. I am not sure if this is going to be by nearest or give us an option to choose when 2cities&n
