As I recall, the tech tree requirements for harvesting any resources on the map have been removed (which I sort of think there should be some, like harvesting crystal and shard shrines, but hey). In any event, in .98 beta 4, I have not been able to build on any resources (gold depsoits, oasis, etc) with a Pioneer unit. I can build on them only if they are contiguous with an existing city. This is extremely limiting, and competely eliminates the benefit of having resources

Had a pretty long game session. Clicked on the load game button and it crashed to desktop. Link to zip file.
Aaaaand here's another example of the same exact error. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9193600/Elemental0_98-2010-08-03T20-54-27-534.zip
I was in tactical combat with a stack of spiderlings. I clicked on the spellbook icon to open the spell book and the game crashed to desktop. Link to zipfile.
After I clicked the turn button, the technology upgrade screen for Adventure came up. When I clicked on Egog's Journal out of the two items, the game crashed to desktop. Dropbox link to the zip file.
Looking forward to this release. Every beta looks better and better! Great work!
1. Clicked the end-turn button, the music stopped, then started for a second, then crashed to desktop. 2. This particular game has about ten times more "goodies" than any other game I've played. Not sure if that is a random ratio or something created when the world is built, but there are a massive amount of them everywhere. zip file link attached. Thanks!
I was walking around in the over land, and the game crashed to desktop as I was moving to a new square. Zip file attached.
In the Design screen, a bunch of the stuff doesn't have pictures that load, such as the armors (platemail, chainmail shirt, etc) are missing. The Red Dragon picture is missing from the card, as well. I'll generate a screenshot next time I load the game up.
Why not make the quest items for the mastery quest Strategic Resources? Each one gives a different bonus. Let's say the Forge gives you a bonus to metal production or the ability to make magic swords. Let's say that the Tree of Life gives you a bonus to materials production, or perhaps gives one point of health regeneration across your entire domain. The Shrine of Fortune gives you a bonus to random rolls. The Temple of the Ancients gives you a bonus to magi
Just playing along when it ran out of memory. Link is to dump file. Looks like it failed to create the normal zip file (zero bytes). Thanks, Ishantil
I've definitely seen my cities randomly labeled with opponent's names. It always makes me think that my city was taken over by the enemy without me noting. Next time I see it, I'll post it up.
Similar issue. The game hung while building the world, the music kept play. I had to kill it. Dropbox link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9193600/Elemental0_92-2010-07-20T21-16-25-958.zip
Looking forward to getting my hands on the 3C final when I get home this evening to see how it's going. Excellent work.
One of the things that I noticed last night when I was attempting to build a new city was that had no idea how far away I needed to be in order to build a new city. It just kept on telling me "you are too close to a settlement" until I eventually reached the happiness zone where I could build a new city. Suggestion: When the dialogue pops up for the too close message, how about highlighting the squares that are buildable in green or something? Having to find it
That would suggest availibility needs to checked against resource availability. If you don't have a smithy, you can't make swords. :)
I have also experienced this. The pointer gets stuck on the "move here" pointer for tactical battles screen. And it's very difficult to tell where its' pointing to. Suggest that the pointer change back to the default, and the level-up boxes be made larger.
A few things I noticed: 1. When purchasing, getting items, there is no way to know how/what an item does. The card doesn't pop up. 2. Requirements for items don't seem to exist anywhere useful. I buy some traveler'sboots, not knowing if they fit my sovereign's feet! Guess they were out of my size? 3. A wearable equipment screen (with a body with item slots) or something would be a nice addition, to tell what items do what, and what y
Dear Stardock guys, I just started running the beta. The game is coming along nicely, and despite the random crashes, I find myself wanting to play the game more and more. I am very excited by what I see. I've started posting bug reports and will continue to do so. Hopefully my posts (now) meet guidelines. Please keep up the great work! I'm very proud to call Stardock my favorite game studio.
Started the Armor (of whatever) quest. Fought the spiders with no game problems. Upon exiting the quest and returning to the main screen (overland map), the game music stopped, the game hung for a bit, then crashed to desktop. Dropbox link above to zip. Glad to see that there is so much stimulating discussion going on about this game. I've been looking for a proper MoM sequal for years. They did great with MOO, so I imagine that they'll do a great job with MoM as well. Sounds like the modification and editing engine built into the game will be a lot like what they have in GCII, and Stardock has always been really good for offering updates, patches, and expansion packs. I was hoping to se
As the spiritual successor to Master of Magic, there were a number of different non-human races. It made the game a lot of fun to see the various different unit types. Each had it's own "tech tree" based entirely on buildings (like civilization was). Are there any plans include any additional races? Thanks, Ishantil
