Quoting Mmrnmhrm, reply 77 As of .86, I would give FE a 55/100. So, no better than WOM you're saying? Or are you using some special review scale known only to you that we're supposed to telepathically relate to? Why give a "score" with nothing to reference to? I give FE two purple rainbows, a blue diamond and a purple horse shoe. WOM would be a 1 out of 10
Using Metacritic's numbering system from http://www.metacritic.com/about-metascores At launch, I would have given WoM a 15-20. In its present state, I would probably give it 40-50. As of 0.86, I would give FE a 60-65. If the tech tree, faction differentiation, etc. gets cleaned up, I can see giving FE a 75-85.
LOL. In other words, your opinion is irreleva
It doesn't matter what people think review scores should be. It only matters what they are. Metacritic is the standard. If someone is going to try to give useful feedback as to where they think the game stands and decides to use some sort of review score then they should adjust it based on what other games get.
Not wanting to beat this to death, but FFH2 had multiple non-human races (Golems, Vampires, Centaurs, + the more standard dwarfs/elf varieties + humans that were very different - tricksters, berserkers, etc) that were all very different... take N races * M very different religions -> many combinations with lots of re-playability. If the main races are all human, and vary mostly on spells, they still won't be greatly differentiat
I think you'd just choose which core mechanic you want them to spend the most time on.
Also the people that are arguing with those that expressed negative opinions. I understand you may not agree with them, but now is the time for those opinions to be expressed. If the devs really are listening, the game will only benefit from even the most scathing critique. Arguing that they are somehow wrong doesn't really help the game. Keep in mind that the survey question is vague. Some people, like me, are responding on w
I'm not sure how ones experience with Yar's Revenge would help in a strategy game.
Most forums are recruited on the forums. I don't know about in the game...
Heh. I found my WOM GBU review: https://forums.elementalgame.com/391474
You bums!
0.77? What are you talking about?
The Good: It's fun. Everything else still has to answer to this question. It's goddam fun. Like, best strategy game since Civ IV fun if they fix the stuff below. The Bad: Diplomacy needs a lot of work. The computer players need work. More magic. More spells. More loot. Caravan spam. The Ugly: Gets very slow and very memory hoggish late game. The graphics in the game are terrible if you're playing as
I don't like the caravans and I really hate the road system. I want roads. Lots more roads.
I guess FB could have just assumed you were a semi literate jerk instead of assuming that your writing style was due to English not being your first language.
I'm usually a Paradox groupie but find some of their fans to be delusional. I am interested in Warlock like others and have been lurking over at Paradox and came across this thread: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?580579-Warlock-against-Fallen-enchantress I love this quote: It's too late for Elemental<
The WOM box also talked about dynasties which aren't in FE. Let's face it, WOM <> FE. We weren't promised multiplayer in FE.
Great game concepts are ones that seem obvious in retrospect. Here are some things I am really loving! THE LOOT. I love this. Standard RPG stuff in a strategy game. I love it when I find a rare item. So cool! THE PERKS. Standard RPG fare but made to feel natural in a strategy game. HOMM has something like this in FE it feels more natural. Plus, the AI seems to use it well. QUESTS THAT CHANGE THE GAME. The Quests in WOM were lame. I love getting quests that end up givin
We get it. You're disappointed. Life is full of them.
Downloading the installer at full speed. Let's hope this goes better than EWOM...
Are you sure you're not redownloading wom? No FE on my download page yet. I am eager to see it.
I haven't heard of any release of the new Stardock Central? Can we get an official answer on how we will be obtaining FE? Is it Impulse? Or some other way?
That would be cool.
I agree. Is there an option to have icons above units with their color above them so I can tell whose army belongs to who?
I would bet it's either the day of or after.
You're an idiot.
You're not finding the latest builds stable, esc? Then you better get reporting because it's solid as a rock here. If you want to see unstable, go back and play the officially available version. Most people who don't hang out on these forums don't know there's a beta. It's not the default setting in Impulse. Someone who buys it from the store or even from stardock is gonna be playing the version from last Fall. Not a good thing. It's ready to go now. It was ready to go last we
