Quoting N1ghthavvk, reply 7Shame really that I invested time in this.. Not at all. I can understand a request such as you and Borg are requesting. I appreciate you wanting this aspect of the game to be better. My (over-?)reaction was because you initially painted the game as being flawed and one of the worst when it came to the end of game. You write well, and I hope you continue to contribute to the forum. My o
I was primarily suggesting you manually save. And yes I get that you don't want to have to reload, but really you expect the game designer to make it so you can load a game you already won? Mediocre is not how you described the ending. You made it sound like it is horrible. You used all caps (and bold). And I don't find the ending mediocre at all; I find it quite satisfying. You are, of course, entitled
Interesting, so apparently you guys think that this is not an issue.
I am perplexed that you find this game's finish so disappointing because you go on to cite just how much information is given. I've played games that have said basically "you won!" and not much else. Also, you should have a pretty good idea you are about to end the game. So, save it just before you win. Personally, once the game is over, I never
Alright so after grinding through a game with the new DLC installed (shameless plug for the "Anti-Slipper-Movement") which I quite enjoyed I was once more totally unprepared for the end. ONE OF THE MOST DISAPPOINTING ENDS TO ANY GAME. So what I guess everyone knows is that when you finish your game you are facing one of 4 little cutscenes depending on how you won. This is all fine and looks good to me. But after those amazing screens you are faced with
I wouldlike to add that the Blood God Armor which sounded very cool is absurdly bad. Values of the Blood God Armor:
It gives ok armor value, but a negetative Inititive on top of its special effect which is pretty bland. The shoes double all Blood God Armor damage (do nothing if you only have those), the Armor allows you to damage all units around yourself and yourself for a meekly 8 damage, the handcuffs do whenever you attack 2 damage to both attacker and defender, a
The Equipment tool that gives the champion "Maul" does not work for Magic Staffs.. I suspect it also does not work for other ranged combat? I woul like that it would work for ranged combat too. Because else it would be useless for an archer.
@webusver I really like your ideas. Especially concerning crossbows. They have too much "do not use these" by having an extra -2 Initiative on top of the also horrendous bows' Initiative which makes them extra bad. Yes they do grant you the "line fire", but that is almost never effective (at most hit 3 units and normally only 2 of the 5 you technically can, because no AI is dumb enough to get in a line before my crossbows..) Yes they are one-handed, but that does n
Alright so you basically cannot lose given you have autosave enabled for every turn and loading said autosave after finishing turn always?
Having the highest score on the turn limit gave you 0 finishing points in the ranking afterwards the last time i tried it and I was controlling the whole huge map with only 1 city not in my possession. I had a power rating of 20.000 ... I was and still am pretty disapointed.
As I've said, it should remove the items completely. If an empty item appears, just sell it.
What do you mean by that?
'Nobody knows why OP even did excuse himself. Alright. I guess that makes 12 of us..
The pathing is apparently biased against any kind of land the AI holds, be it neutral or enemy territory. I've noticed it would ALWAYS try to go another way round even if it would be possible for my 5 movement sovereign to just cross that outpost in one turn. I don't think that this should be the way it is now. Since being in anybodies land technically is allowed the pathing should reflect this! [e digicons]:|[/e] or not?
@coyote Noone knows. Sometimes when you reload an older save the game does work out in a different way than before so when talking about reloading the beginning of that one turn ... maybe one could try and reload when one had just been attacked, and reload over and over again just to get some statistic going if you CAN get attacked from an autosave. I never tried it so I don't know, but I guess if one doesn't get attacked after any reload its pretty clear that there mi
There is also the option of keeping the controversial items and changing their art defs. Regular (pink?) boots for the bunny slippers and a regular maul for the lollipop.
I would actually like items with the effect of those bunny slippers and lollipops, but I am not a skilled artist myself that I could do it and I have absolutely no experience in modding this game so perhaps some white knight in shining armor could
Interesting. My game does get slow because of the 1autosave/turn thing, but I never suspected it to do crashes. Although most of my crashes DO happen when taking a turn. So that might be it.
Maybe I'll get the DLC and mod the 2 immersion fail items out of my game! That should do it. Also as before with the other DLCs it would be interesting to hear if the sales are as good as before with those? @Island Dog Yes I am aware that I do not "need" to use any items.. However, if those items are usable by the AI I will eventually see them in my game. Also their stats sound really really strong so not using them would be a hindrance to min/maxing a game for some people
Extraordinary. I may never need to use the "Scout" talent again! Well in all seriousness the save games are pretty much not the most glamourous aspect of this game [e digicons]O:)[/e]
I wont be surprised if they nerf some of those items next patch.. [e digicons]:banhammer:[/e]
Wait has someone a link for this? I don't remember any of this. Oh my god! I found it... and I really dislike the idea of all those Immersion breaking items .. (well the two atleast) And then they are so good you basically have to use them [e digicons]X([/e] Also nearly every item sounds pretty powerful. As if I'm not going to use Lady Umbers eq
Hm you mean Auto turn? I have that disabled. Maybe.. Assuming I have no units on the map (all stationed in cities) and all cities have build-queues, will Auto-Turn proceed the game until something happens? Like e.g. a fight or an empty build-queue?
Well .. yes, Darxim. But I'd better like another option for me: The game continues to take turns until I tell it to stop. Something like a lock on mode much like the "run forward forever" in Skyrim. Would make some of my grinding games much faster
Hm actually smeagol has a valid point. That means it should, if implemented, be an optional feature.
Talking about late-game of course when the turns take endlessly long right? Happens pretty fast too on huge/large maps. I agree would be neat.
Trojasmic, having to hit the "end turn" for an item to appear does not seem very intuitive. [e digicons]O:)[/e]
This is visible when hovering over the portrait of the spell at the start of the battle when fighting as Amarians or against them (it is adviced to click the portrait of a unit first to make the battle pause). Expected result: Values of 0 when the player does not control any shards like I did
