Also the literally BEST units to take over are those: 1. "The Dark Sorcerer" from the Quest where you rescue "Bill" (a stone golem) His qualities: Level 20, has "Despair", "Summon a level 20 evil thingy with good attack" and "Cloak of Fear" Pretty overpowered because he is just a unit and his casts do not cost mana. Also Despair pretty much singlehandidly wins fights (keep in mind it does 3xsorcerers level as damage to everyone and even if resisted still does some dama

Yeah, never had the Lollipop drop on me.
No since it technically isn't a bug, but rather a design decision.
Fixed annoying issue where the hour glass cursor would show when looking at the tech tree. Isn't this the UI improvement everyone is talking about? Or is that not enough to satisfy us?
So this is another example of the AI having an unfair advantage over the player instead of better Artificial Intelligence? Cool.
You can cheat it for yourself. Press Ctrl+J to give your sovereign all mounts (including the dragon) Of course this only works if you add "-cheats" in your launch options.
I think it's more about the type of person that plays 4X games than it is the size, per se. We're less likely to troll and more likely to offer constructive criticism!
Yeah I guess that do plays a part in it, too. I mean when there is no PvP in the game, then all the people who would want to "PvP" you on the developers board wouldn't even be here.
Maybe partly the reason that this community isn't bitter is because it is still a small community so to speak. If you for example visit the developers board for Dota2 it is swarmed with trolls and up-to-no-goods (If you didn't already know Dota2 is a pretty big game) Looking forward to more awesome patches!
If I sounded dismissive I apologize, that was not the point. The point was to make sure it had nothing to do with user controlled factors. I have to reinforce Primal_Savage's point of view. I too, have heard that AI would still surrender on "never" albeit I never tested that myself.
No, the AI resigning is perfectly fine, albeit the reason why it did it, could be caused by using a custom race (modification?). Anyways, it is pretty funny how the #1 did it. Oh did you set the "surrender treshhold" particularly low/high?
Looks like the problem has something to do with a mod of yours... if this is even a problem ?
Yes, I would like to reinforce this idea!
- Arena Quest (Last part) shouldn't give the same sword as Ongr; - Blood season is a little early (Most of the time I haven't even research alliance let alone had time to be in one); - Improved auto-path (Avoid finishing turn beside creature; Should be able to go through AI zones). That's all for now, great game btw!
Those are some co
Awesome I'll try!
No sorry, Trojasmic, I was disheartened after my first try and couldn't find the time to try again. Maybe a little bit of my own opinion here: If the challenge would be easier it would attract more casual players like me. Of course that would be boring for veterans like you and those other players here, but if you could do an easy and a hard challenge per month? Make more challenges on different difficulties to appease more to more people, if you get where i'm coming f
Maybe a map where the AI starts on a small island!
Yeah I'd like that. Should be big enough for a city. Aaaaand that should be about it. Hm if he has a city on an island only big enough for just that city tile. And he builds so many units that they overflow his city. Where will the next unit spawn? On the cliff meaning impassable terrain?
If you don't want to win via conquest don't attack. Also if you don't want an ai just play on the easier settings. The AI then won't be able to do much to mess with you.
The thing with your idea is simple. Any AI in my game means, that if it dies to the insane level of power of neutral units in my game which are scattered around the countryside the game is over... And if it doesn
Actually I would like to disable "Conquest" as an option to win the game. So if it would be possible to just have full ability to customize the winning possibilities I would be pleased. Currently not being able to outrule Conquest makes me not want to play :( Oh I also would like a mode where only I am in the game, without AI. That would of course mean that Conquest would have to be disabled. That way one can focus on conquering the land back from the wildlands.<
Check out your units mid-combat and search for the buff "Noble Legacy" or click on it being cast during the beginning of the battle (even before fear, etc)
Well the rules explicitly say do not load from autosaves unless you crash. Of course you can still save manually each turn by using the Quicksave function (Ctrl+S). With a speed challenge like this, who knowing how to proceed is key. So you gotta try reloading from time to time to try a different strategy.
In my experience (which isn't the most complete by any means), when you start in the middle you have much space to expand, but also meet other players faster, because they are surrounding you most likely. You will have to deal with them all, but are also in the best position to do so. When you start in a corner it is mostly just 1 or 2 opponents who are near you and you will most likely gain the "You are too far away to worry about +2" Diplomatic bonus for all other players. Also
Seems like only our dear thread creator was able to finish his game, ... yet. I downloaded your savegame, but apart from my first try (which was not with your savegame.. whoops), I didn't find any spare time. I also noticed that I have no idea how to beat a difficulty higher than easy. Shameless plug asking for advice.
Don't we have a similiar Spell here in FELH? Some kind of portal which spawns death demons for an insane upkeep? Anyways I was thinking if only the Elementel Lords would expand their reign/reach/zoneofcontrol it would be pretty cool. Obviously a game mode Player vs. Wildlands would be most welcome then (without any annoying AI opponents who farm my monster lairs?!) I like the general ideas flying around here very much!
Interesting idea, but afaik the starting locations are not going to be balanced or even worked on, because you do have that Ctrl+N and development time is probably better used elsewhere. At least that was what I last heard.
That is certainly a powerful item but I would beg to differ. Yes +50% more magic damage is very good, but there is also the Necromancer robe which gives 20 armor, 20 spell resistance, 20 spell mastery and is equipable from the start if you manage to finish its quest.
