It's in Greater Necromancy, which means you can only get it if you play Empire. Mage - Summoning - Necromancy - Greater Necromancy. You can get it very early (lvl 5), but the spell is quite expensive.
I can't help you with modding, but I did notice something in my current game I've never noticed before: lairs never have more than one spawn roaming the map at the same! As long as you haven't killed spawn #1, no new mob will spawn. At least, that's how it seems to work in my current game.
Impulse, listen carefully, I will tell this only once: in the options menu, there's a secret second page. It's called 'advanced options'. [e digicons];P[/e] It has all the settings most players would prefer. You can turn off auto-turn and auto-select next unit. You can even choose to manually place city buildings! Just press 'U' to select next unit and 'enter' to end your turn. Problem solved.
I like 3, the unique ability. Two traits per level might be too much, maybe an additional trait every second or third level?
If you like a challenge and can't help but load a game if you are unlucky, stay away from Beastlord. Taming is bad for your mental health.
Personally, I do not like hidden features and (too much) randomness in a repeatable TBS game, to be honest. But they could be fun in a mod. You can never have enough XML wizards or LH mods. Good luck in your endeavours!
Thanks for the reply, Azunai. About Yithril: - I figured the ability was changed. But are they supposed to keep their defense bonus? Also: after you use any ability, the unit's turn is over. You cannot move afterwards. This is probably just a wrong animation. About the collar: - I did not use it or selected it in any way. It's not really a big deal. About the Scrying Pool: - it's a pet peeve, but quests not giving fame to an Adventurer
Congratz! I do have to agree with merlinme, though: disabling spell of making is probably easier than winning that way, on Ridiculous or Insane. I am not sure if you disabled it. Anyway, that's nitpicking. Quite a feat! Edit: I am starting a game on Insane/Insane, with Ceresa/Resoln. Wish me luck!
After having fun with some sandbox games, I am currenty playing the LH campaign. While it is fun, it also feels a bit...unstable. I have encountered two real bug and several 'weird' features: Bugs: - In the capital of "Yithril invasion'' I had to fight two Craul Gravehands, with different stats. This is probably because I defeated Craul earlier? - Eviscerate: Magar, my first hero, has 'eviscerate': attack that always hits for critical damage. Un
This is a VOB (very old bug). It was already bugging me in FE. Just curb your curiosity guys!
Be agressive: build multiple cities and attack the AI early on with your best stack. If you wait for them to reach 400 you are in trouble. If you have problems with the monsters surrounding your starting location, play as a beastmaster (easiest) or a summoner and summon a warg. This way, you will have at least one additional unit from the start.
Yes! Please devs, undo all those balance changes since early beta. Throw in some of the old bugs too, while you are at it. Just kidding, this shows Legendary Heroes is becoming a big game, with a forum where every subject gets rehashed endlessly. We are one of the big guys now [e digicons][/e]
Resoln. Because undead commanding spiders and elementals rule.
About first heroes: I always hope for a champ with Water or Earth, because of the city enchantments. They are a huge boon in the early game.
I have tried dabbling in designing units without much success - I need to devote more time to this I think. One thing that is sorely missing for me is a good wiki / in-game manual. I hope the devs update the hiermygon (sp?) soon - I have an amethyst (twisted tame) and a beast taming collar (I think it's beast?) and am not sure who to use it on! The purple panther is nowhere to be found so I would like
All the shards (except Life) can spawn one demon per level of the shrine/temple. After it spawns, the shard will need 10 turns to create a 'spare' one, which will spawn if the first demon dies. As soon as you upgrade the shard, an higher level will spawn. These will be replaced in the same way as before. However, if your lower level demon dies, it will not get replaced anymore. Yes, Knowledge works the same as Potential, with a bigger bonus. More content? Let'
Two things I don't like about damage tactical spells in LH: - If you are a Warlock, you are not guaranteed to have any damaging spells. - The spells are all over the place. Everyone can get access to Fireball, which is one of the most damaging spells. The other top damage spell, Horrific Wail, is only available to Empire casters. There is no way of knowing this beforehand.
I always pick 'mage' for my Sovereign and 'commander' for all my heroes (if I can select one). Joeball gave a nice overview, just to be sure I'd like to point out that some professions are really subpar: Hunter, Banditlord, Adventurer are underpowered. Warlock sounds nice, but if you play Kingdom and don't select Fire spells, you'll have to wait a long time before you gain any damage spells.
What Steven said. Ok, here are my 2 cents: all the magic schools receive some additional flavorful spells and summons. Every faction would have access to one elemental school of magic. Nothing drastic here. Heroes and Sovs could still gain access to other magic later on, through the same means as always (the Decalon, etc). On top of that, every faction has one unique trait, with one unique mount, one unique building, one unique summon and one unique recruitable
I have fallen enchantress....So I am on the fence if it is beneficial for me to purchase legendary heroes? Is it really all that different?
Beneficial? If you love fantasy TBS and would like to support a small company that caters to your needs, yes. But LH is not really all that different from FE. If you loved the scenario and/or spent 50+ hours on Fallen Enchantress, I'd buy Legendary Heroes. Otherwise, it might not be wo
Congrats, Fuzzy! Yes, I suspect the devs are a little envious of truly heroic legends like you. That's probably why scores above 10,000 don't show up on the chart :)
Keg of Beer - +1 HP. All of +1.
I admit, the ale isn't great, but +1 attack or defense is always useful for my sov. Much better than finding the same item multiple times. Or finding any low damage/low int weapon.
I always play to the best of my ability, otherwise it's not a game for me, but a simulation. I've won FE on ridiculous and insane. That being said, I usually do not have an ultimate goal in mind, simply expanding and gaining xp. I cannot get myself to pick weak traits when I create a custom faction, but I also do not select boring, 'OP' or swingy traits. About Frogboy's remark: LH seems a lot more difficult to beat than FE. Expert is still achievable,
Phazon, that's a different Pariden trait. The 'decalon' costs 2 picks, so I don't feel that one's overpowered.
