I have to admit i am really liking beta 0.952. I have not had as much fun since beta 0.912. It is now really starting to feel like the game I have been dreaming of. I would like to throw a little encouragement at the FE development team, I think you are definitely on track, please keep up the good work. Signed: A Stardock employee...........not.
Thanks for the update Tattyhat, if you find the particular CCC option that killed you please let me know (feel free to PM it to me).
Okies, by trail and error I found the culprit. AMD HD7850 card Catalyst 12.x drivers. Even though anti aliasing may be turned off in your CCC if the anti-aliasing MODE in your CCC is set to 'Adaptive Multi-sample
I was a little disappointed with 0.950 Beta 4, very messy, but have to say how nicely it is coming along with the release of 0.952. You can now start to see the wow game this is going to become. I now also have my anti Anti-aliasing working, and the game looks beautiful.
I am running Anti Aliasing X2 and have no problems Edit: And I should learn patience and read through before posting Sincerely ~ Kongdej
Excuse me. I had been searching for a solution to my problem for two days before I posted here. Edit: Sorry, I should read thing properly before responding with vinegar. [e digicons][/e] </spa
That sounds very similar to what I'm seeing under linux with wine. For me, too, the map is just white and pictures of self created sovereigns are just black.
Try what I have just done, if you can access CCC that is. Damit! Just got my AA working and now I get a FE has stopped working error. Something's were not meant to be. :)
Could you provide some more specifics. What are you setting it to when you see the issue (Anti-Aliasing 2x)? What are you setting it to when you don't see the issue (Anti-Aliasing Off). And screenshots of the before and after. Getting a copy of your debug.err would be handy too. For anyone else reading, let us know fi you are running into this.
Sorry Mr Dere
It works for me. Is it possible your video card doesn't support anti-aliasing? Is anyone else seeing this?
Brand new HD 7850, AA works with my other games. I am running the new 12.8 drivers, I did try the 12.4 set just in case but got the same result.
Anti aliasing has been broken through the last two versions. If selected you just get a white screen where the map should be, also no character shows up in the character selection.
Have you any idea how horrible this game looks without anti aliasing?
Are we there yet? I wanna play. [e digicons]X([/e]
I don't think that a lot of us can play due to corrupt saves and CTD, so we need this like yesterday.
Yeah, the game is a bit of a cluster pudding at the moment. I hope they get things fixed soon.
I love my kindle so much, that now I wouldn't know what to do without one. Best invention ever, real books are faulty, never did work right.
I haven't been able to get past 50 turns without a crash or weird bug finishing it for me. I have put it away for now. Game usually on default settings, I gave up with custom.
1 - Call it......Fallen enchantress, mistress of magic. 3 - Magic spells that make various shields against elemental spells, such as fire and ice. 5 - Teach the AI about r andom events, have it use them, and act more human, more interesting. I can't help feeling that the Steam community will give FE a right good bashing to start of with, but hopefully settle down later if the game proves worthy.</spa
It's actually fall from heaven II that I have loaded, it seems to be a very well made mod. As for FE, I have to say I did expect more emphasis on magic and less on micro managing city's and spamming armies, but there you have it.
Thanks to this thread I learned about the fall from heaven mod, dusted off my old CIV IV and away I go. Gives me something to play while I'm waiting for them to fix FE. Cheers buddy. [e digicons][/e]
Oh man, there are far to many bugs in this version. The game is suffering from something nasty, it needs a doctor quick. [e digicons]:waaaa:[/e]
1 - Health bars are broken 50% of the time in combat. 2 - Sometimes if you character was facing in one direction and then you move it in another direction, the characters walk crab like. 3 - Often CTD on load and save games.
I have had it were you can't move because it's end of turn but your auto move does not kick in.
My health bars are broken. Always showing the wrong amount of health, sometimes the health bar is full and I only have something like 1 health. It makes the game very confusing.
Several times I have made a quicksave, then loading the quicksave back in I get lag and then crash.
I think I would like beta 4 much better if it had all the improvements of beta 4 but retained the AI from 0.912. This new AI sucks peanut crackers, but I believe it is only temporary, which is promising.
Quoting Tattyhat, reply 89Everything looks better and everything seems to run smoother. My problem with this new beta 4 is, I'm not getting the excitement and immersion that I received from the early beta 3 games. Really? I had none of that with Beta 3, but I'm finally getting it with Beta 4. I actually think about this game in ways I never have before. Perhaps you
In Stardocks defense (and not to put words in their mouth....it's just what I think I read in one of Frogoby's threads somewhere...but I'm not going to look for it) is that Stardock isn't going to work on AI upgrades until they fine-tune the balance of the game and determine if tatical-tiles for battles will be added. Once they know what they're working with, they'll look at AI... [/q
