I don't see prestige effects clearly, although they might be there, just hidden. Anyway, prestige is a rare rare resource you have no control of it (only gain with techs, maybe in another dark way too). Influence is just a coin in exchanges (yeah, buy henchmen and little more).
Prestige is gained through: Technology. Levelling your sovereign. Special buildings. That one silly spell. Having

Sounds like you had a fun game, I can't see much of a problem except the AI being slightly silly when your territory encloses them and "prisons" them on the peninsula (they need to deal with that!) The AI should always consider hitting the winning faction, the AI should try to win, currently the AI is only going after beating off small factions... But it helps when the AI actually knows how to do combat. Sincerely ~ Kongdej

I'd love to try my hand at some modding, I have some relatively unique ideas (at least I think they're unique) but don't have the time to try and discover what does what, where it does it, why it does it, how it does it, how to alter what it does, where it does it, etc... Brad, I also remember a
I still hope the standard sovereigns gets a re-haul, it will be sad if that is another thing that mods have to fix :( Sincerely ~ Kongdej
The time between update 1.00, 1.01 and 1.02 have been just perfect, to be honest any quicker than that is ok, but gets painful with mods. Talking about features, come on and fïx those bugs instead ^_^ Sincerely ~ Kongdej
Thank you for taking this up Tuidjy, I have tried to say this before but to no avail, so I'll just bump this thread ^_^ Sincerely ~ Kongdej
This thought may not be popular, but my suggestion is to chuck it out of the window. there's enough resources already i wouldn't miss influence if it completely vanished from the game.
Can't say I am fond of the current influence system atm. Although I do like the influence works with regards to altar's henchmen. Sincerely ~ Kongdej
Stilll present in 1.0.1. Just ran into this in my current game. It's annoying, and I would think easy to fix.
Have been here since the early beta, I remember posting about once or twice (that or my pills made me think I posted about it ^_^) Sincerely ~ Kongdej
Are there custom factions or sovs that the AI would be better with? Or would it not matter because they wouldn't have very good units designed?
They will have all the basic units with the custom sovereigns, plus all the ones you design. And yes there are, any custom sovereign that is an improvement over the old ones would be better ;) also if give the AI a sovereign that is decent/good at the earlygame, they should do b
I mean, you could have Tarth scouting parties, Trog heavy infantry, the works!
For this to work properly (properly as I would have it work, where your Tarth slaves are still able to move full speed through forests) it would require some re-tooling of the mechanics, either that or it gets slightly odd, that said it would be fun to see a different blood ability being used due to having an excess amount of Tarth slaves.<br /
It helps NOT having monsters on dense, and generally the AI is decent at grabbing heroes (I think) but not too good att managing them, (So dunno about hero or quest options), if the AI difficulty is higher than the world difficulty it ofcourse helps the AI, but personally I can't beat the Insane level of difficu
I thought "stacks of doom" meant where the Player builds one or two overpowered armies and proceeds to mop up the entire map with them. Not the AI building competitive armies (for a change) and taking on the player on equal terms. Hm, some games did this ok, other games with this feature were ruined by this feature... A game were this feature ruined the game for me is "Warlock: Master of the Arcane", since it completely killed re-playability for me being able to explore every single unit and feature on first playthrough, if you keep this mechanic out you can spend more time making each separate faction more interesting. If you don't have time to make factions more interesting (I figure Stardock didn

Sometimes when you play with mechanics long enough, you get to like them ;) I didn't like the random hero traits at first, but in the long run it keeps me from going to the same hero build each game. ~ K
Do the 10% cumulative bonuses on these things work now? I'm having problems determining if they are or not.
Dunno, the base weapon isn't good enough for me to test them ^_^ Sincerely ~ Kongdej
1. This one is easy and obvious. Modify the skins on armour so they change more in relation to faction colours. The colour of your armour needs to vary much more depending on your faction. Right now all armour is kinda the same colour, even leather. Giving unique colours to armies' armour would go a long way to making them look interesting. Think Warhammer, just painting units makes them stand out.
VERY good idea, take a look at the "Total War" series, for wh
The only issue I had with the OP is the title ^_^. That said, if you play in a world where atleast 1 opponent is a warmonger, you will HAVE to build defenses, I like the point in FE that you gain a huge advantage of being prepared for a war, instead of being able to out-spew out-produce everything, and ignore military until the last minute defenses are needed (Civ 5 springs to mind) That said, I think 3 out of 4 victory conditions right now are pretty "simple"/"easy" to grab,
It the way the weapon is constructed is my guess, if you take the form of a big 2 handed war-hammer and remove the weight, you will (first off make the warhammer useless), second off you would still lose a lot of the momentum in the attack by wielding it in 1 hand, the core idea is, the weapon is made for you to swing it with 2 arms and apply as much force as possible (and as much of the war-hammers weight). I miss the summoning game from MoM, where my entire empire would focus mana generation (instead of gold and troops) and then I would just spew out armies of hellhounds, skeleton raiders, zombies, basilisks, you name it. Hmmm... (Fires up MoM) Sincerely ~ Kongdej
